When are we going to get the loot and reward system promised for the base game?

if a significant amount of players don't have horizons, they'll probably do it.

If a large number of players don't have Horizons, doing it would be commercially risky, since it could depress the prospects for Horizons DLC sales.

If (as I suspect) the vast majority is now playing Horizons (because they upgraded or because they bought the game after last december), they might just drop the matter entirely.

I'd bet the vast majority of sales since Horizons release don't include Horizons. Steam stats show ED purchases very price sensitive. Almost all the EDbase sales have been at the knock-down £10 price. EDH looks hugely unattractive at double the price for a lot less than double the content... esp. with most of the extra content as yet unavailable and with no completion date from Frontier.

So this thread is not a loot question but a lasers question?

I agree with the OP that selling loot should be like Fronter; Elite II - you blow stuff up, you get stuff back. At the moment I think sometimes I find loot in USS but I picked them up once and became wanted for theft. Surely if nobody saw me take it, its mine? But I always avoid taking loot for this reason.

Lasers in Frontier: Elite II were all kind of colours from Red to White. I think it would be cool to select a random laser Hue value on each roll of the modification wheel, so you may get Cyan or Purple or even black! We dont need tracers, but in the heat of battle, it would look really psychedelic and super cool with lots of colours going on, especially if they get around to refracting solar light though lasers, and making them reflect off mirrored shields.

I imagine that after the NMS debacle sales for both the base game and Horizons are seeing a big uptick.

Steam stats show net ED sales from the day after NMS release: approx 200 copies. Total. In three weeks. Roughly nine copies a day.

Could be some more sales lost in the noise. Could be a handful of sales on Xbox.

If there IS a big uptick, it is far too small to measure.
