Horizons When did my passenger become illegal??

Summary
One of my passengers mysteriously became illegal between my leaving Tanner City (V888 Centauri) to Kuo (Skeggiko O), and leaving Kuo. As I tried to Jump from Kuo to my next destination, I realised I was short on fuel as I'd forgotten to refuel, so I turned back and re-requested docking permission. I was scanned, and destroyed.

I'd fortunately recorded the whole of this incident, so was able to go back and replay.

Background
On review, I see that my status was "Illegal" as I was preparimng to leave Kuo, which I had not noticed at the time, as I'm careful not to pick up dodgy passengers. I noticed also that my status was not illegal when I left Tanner City, or on approach to Kuo (I was scanned as I approached) so it must have happened while picking up passengers at Kuo.

I had three tourists already on board from before Tanner City, plus one passenger to be dropped off at Kuo, which I duly did. I then picked up 17 other tourists, plus passengers erson, Farrell, and Spence, carefully checking that they were clean, and not showing as wanted in "some systems".

I picked up nothing else there. One passenger (Spence) demanded a reroute to Lu Velorem, and I saw no problem with that.

My status then changed ("Illegal passenger"), which I did not notice at the time, and what happened in my first paragraph occurred.

I attach screenshots from the video recording. What did I miss, in the passenger descriptions?

Read the patch notes. Your status display now tells you when you have illegal passengers. It's a good thing, because you really need to know that.

I can't help you on which passenger you picked up was illegal. But one clearly was.

When the description says : Unlikely etc.etc. Does this mean a passenger is likely to become illegal whilst onboard ship?

This is something Passenger Players need to know. If players could check this out somehow it would benefit the community.

Is a LOW Value passenger likely to become illegal?

Of course - but that's of no value unless one has a way of knowing it before accepting the fare, or at least finding out who the culprit is when one becomes aware of it.

A similar thing has actually just happened again.

I was carrying 17 aid workers and 17 business persons. I had been rerouted by the aid workers to Vesalius City in Kunggi A. I requested docking at Vesalius and it was granted with a fulsomely warm welcome, and then I was scanned and docking permission was withdrawn, and my status then showed me as "Wanted". I escaped by entering the starport, aligning myself with the slot and boosting out, and managed to attain jump with 20% hull left.

I have a video of this episode as well. (Some other odd occurrences lately have prompted me to record everything.)

I have no idea why I became Wanted. My two sets of fares were innocent enough - especially, for heaven's sake, the aid workers! I have three dormant bounties against me, but all with at least 3 days yet to run, and none within Kunggi.

This smells to me of a bug. Does anyone agree?

Check your pilot log files from when you accepted the missions, they should show the legal status of your passengers.

Er... Is the pilot log file the item that opens when you click on the fare in the Passenger Lounge? If so, then there was nothing that I could see that suggested anyone was illegal, or might become illegal.

I'm going to submit this as a bug.

The game keeps a very detailed file-based log of your activities, on Windows you can find it in (IIRC) "C:\Users\<username>\My Saved Games"

Thanks - I found it in "D:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous".

I couldn't see an entry which indicated my status changing to "Wanted" though. So still not clear on what happened. Really grateful if anyone can help?

Could you please find the log entry from when you accepted the mission?

There seems to be some bugginess or at least confusion around that topic, and there have been several reports, and I really don't see a cue you would have missed.

Okay, I've solved the first one. One or more of Rich Tourist erson and her 3 chums "...may be wanted in multiple systems." That eluded me at the time, being in dark red text on a dark grey background - but yes, the warning was there. Mea culpa.

I'm still reseaching the second occurrence.

Same thing happened to me... I was only carrying tourists... I took two tourist missions and upon leaving the station WANTED appeared on my hud and I got shot within seconds by Federation pilots.

1.1 mil insurance to get my Type-7 back....

I stored my passenger cabins and I'm back at trading goods.....

(from memory): Look for lines starting with '{ .... "MissionAccepted" ' or something similar to that. Further down that line you will see text saying "PassengerWanted:false" or "PassengerWanted:true"

I made it a habit to look at the log files after accepting a passenger mission to double check.

I can see here that there must be a bug. he was granted docking priveleges then it was changed to docking failed because he was a criminal.
Seems to be a bug to me. If he was a criminal he would have a wanted sticker on his dashboard.
