When do I get to see if a planet has been Discovered already?

Currently exploring, after the new changes -thanks FD- implemented.

Just curious, if a planet was already DISCOVERED and DATA SOLD by a commander, does that mean when I run the detailed surface scanner, I should get their name? So I know it was already discovered?

If the answer is yes, then that means that anything I scan that doesn't return a commander name, means nobody has SOLD THE DATA yet to Universal Cartographic, right??

(I guess, we will never be able to tell if someone else has already SCANNED but is on their way to sell the data)

Just looking for some confirmation that all these wonderful planets and moons I am finding on my exploration, returning no name, will not disappoint on the day I sell the data, some few weeks away.

Or will I find out about their names once I sell? :S:eek:

Thanks,

You'll see the First Discoverer name if claimed on the System Map after a simple ping. If there isn't one then First Discoverer is up for grabs but it's a bit buggy right now, even if you surface scan you may not gain credit for all bodies.
