... I was going to sell my entire ship, hull included, for a new one at the FW discount.

But you know what? After what this magnificent boat, a Cobra Mk III of course, has gotten me through...

Pirates, adventures into the deep of space, markets with exceptional profits.

I can't sell her. I cannot sell the DW2 Kalashnikov. So instead, I'm stripping her out. The modules are just parts, organs. They're not where the spirit is. If I got a new hull, that spirit would be gone. That little bridge, wouldn't be the bridge that took me to the edge.

So instead, I'm keeping the hull. It was purchased at standard price. Formerly owned by a now defunct mining company, now a multi-purpose vessel that's seen countless light years. And... She's going to see at least as many more. As you can tell from the name, I'm already planning on taking her on Distant Worlds 2. I can't just give a new hull the same name.

It just wouldn't be right.

I have several ships ("hulls" like you say, not models) to which I'm emotionally attached. :)
I fly them on occasion, even if they're mostly crap, now, in comparison to my overengineered main fleet. But I would never sell them.

I think it's a great thing to have such bond with something in game.

Indeed. It's why I still have an ASPX but no anaconda.
