When I log into the game with Rift S Pilot's head is at lap position.

I am new to the Rift but it has brought me back to Elite in a big way. When I first installed it the pilots head was slightly off but usable. Now when I try to play the pilots perspective is from his lap. If I stand up its perfect. If I sit and hit F-12 nothing seems to happen. Should it snap to a default view? Is there any way to change the perspective and then set that position as the default view like in IL-2? I have tried remapping the Oculus and the Steam VR app but that doesn't seem to change the default position much. I have I7 with 1080TI and get great fps and performance in IL-2 and DCS as well as Elite but I cant seem to figure out how to adjust the pilot perspective. I am using the preload for the TM1600 Hotas but didn't see a remap for the ctr head switch so I am still assuming its F-12. Any input would be appreciated as I would love to start playing again. Regards

It happened to me too. So what i did was, when setting the guardian, I set the floor level and then stop the setup. Fixed it for me.

you can change the render resolution of your monitor to something else. the game will ask you to confirm and reset the camera position to your current head stance. its basicly F12 without the need to touch the keyboard.

PRoblem is I cant reset it to the current with out standing up. Then its perfect but moves when I sit back down. There must be away to reset the pilots perspective.?

You can define a reset HMD position in the controls - by default, it's something like F10 or F12 I believe. However the viewpoint position moving on the Rift S seems to be a bug - myself, and at least one other person has reported it in the forums.

thats not really a bug afaik. I have a lenovo explorer wmr. usually I have to set my seating position before playing within the mixed reality portal. otherwise the tracking does not work correctly and the game keeps moving with my head. maybe there is some similar function with oculus?

Not a lot of help I know - but - I moved from Rift to Rift S a couple of days ago. I have a button combination set on my HOTAS for reset view (F12), and even with the Rift would have to reset view several times when starting the game before view was correct for my seated position.
The S hasn't changed things, the routine remains, and works for me, with view resets needed on occasion while playing as I move the chair around getting comfortable/changing position/wriggling :)

Yes, I re-maped the reset to several different buttons. F-12 was also taking a screen shot when I used that. However, no matter where I set the button the head position always stayed right in the lap. If I stand I am exactly the correct position. I have reset the height of the oculus several times in Oculus and in Steam. Its too bad, I would really like to play the game but its not playable this way. Sad thing is that it worked the first time I logged into it. It was amazing for about an hour.

Just an update on the fix for this. I tried mapping the hmd reset to f-12 and to several buttons on my Hotas. I finally set it to F5 on my keyboard. Made sure my keyboard was enabled and it has worked fine ever since. F5 centers the pilot head where ever I happen to be sitting. All fixed, thanks for all the help. Regards.
