When is 1.2 going Live? (I've been away)

I've been away for a bit, and can't find this information anywhere (but then I'm not very good at finding things so my wife keeps telling me... )

So when is patch 1.2 going to the live servers?

Tomorrow all being well, probably late GMT, but who knows :)

Ok good stuff. I was half expecting another week.

I didn't even get to try the Beta yet. I'm guessing the new ships went in at a low price during beta?

hmm I thought they said beta would start on Tuesday 3RD March and run till the following Friday, so I wasn't expecting it to go live till March 13th. Maybe I mis read the post tho.

Yeah, there might be a little confusion with the way it was worded.

"this time, next week" ...does that mean "this time" as of release of the newsletter or "this time" as in the release of the beta

Either way, if 1.1 is an indication, Tuesday GMT is when it releases.

Anyone else think 1 week of beta testing is rather short? I mean sure give it to me fast... but 1 week fast? They must feel really confident with their internal testing by the time it reaches beta.

Really confident or have been forced to include a "beta thing" somewhere to honour some of the kickstarter rewards. "Sure, give them their beta access, just do not delay the game with that ok ? Well... what about a week then ? Sure, perfect".

Sorry, I hate to make horrible posts but this is exactly how it looks/feels to me.

I'm not normally one to defend FDEV, but this isn't really a fair comment. A lot of testing has happened over the last week and a lot of bugs reported. We are already on the third patch level of the beta with various fixes through the week.

I think 1 week is about right given what I've seen. Not too long to delay the expected patches, but long enough to find and address the big bugs. They're doing a good job here!

As they have already announced the dropping of marked cargo, my guess is tommorow. If they had another week, I think they would have stuck at it a little longer.

Well if it is like 1.1 they will release it with reported bugs intact and pick up the pieces afterwards, even when told of bugs causing big issues ie, minor collisions killing ships.
.
Big debacle and refund of funds and ships followed from releasing with bug un fixed.

Sorry but wrong wrong wrong...

There have been 3 patches on the back of feedback from 'testers' - so lets just chuck that theory in the bin shall we?

At least FD are testing their patches. It took EA/DICE releasing essentially a pre-alpha build of BF4 to learn that.

Off-topic, but why is your forum avatar a portrait of a digitally-aged Fernando Alonso?

One should keep his primary ship in the hanger for the next week, that's for sure.

I guess we will see some emergency patches and a lot of credits will be lost (and/or found) and there will be tears.

From what I've seen in the past I don't think they have a strong testing department.
Releaseing after a week seems sheer courage to me.
(Don't get me wrong ... I don't think that they have a better option, and releasing is surely the best thing to do, no blaming intended, but you really need good nerves for that.)

I don't think there are any major issues in 1.2, the new bug reporting forums seem to be much more effective than the black hole that was the old ticketing system.

The one thing I do expect is that the changes to the heat scaling will cause many commanders to cook their ships due to thinking they can safely go to 150% before taking damage. ;)

No Sympathy for those that do cook themselves, audible and visual warnings a plenty! - You would have to be pretty dumb to miss all of the warnings and indicators! .....hmmmm now you mention it ;)
