When is it time to move on (ranking)

Hi,

I been trading all over Empire space and have started doing missions, I am allied with empire so how do I know if I have done enough missions with a faction?

My understanding is to increase your ranking with a local empire faction via missions, then move on to others when your standing with them has increased. But if I am allied with them all how can I tell ? I don't want to be wasting my time.

On average you have to do about 200 missions per rank.

There's a very helpful thread somewhere around here. Search for "fast ranking".

The methods for ranks before 1.3 are rubbish. Basically go to one of the community designated stations and throw money into charity missions. It is very engaging game play.... One of the few bones I have to pick about the game currently.
