What is $450,- referring to? Is that a price that has been announced somewhere for a lifetime pass? I am sorry if I have missed that.
$450???? That's never been a price for retail version of E : D anywhere! Lifetime Expansion I think came in at around £80 last time it was available.... Don't bank on it being made available again though...
Don't forget that sometimes the game is made available on Steam at bargain prices so keep your eyes peeled....

I think that he's meaning that's the cost he will have to pay if he pays for every years pass separately. He want's to buy a lifetime pass at the cheaper $150 or whatever to save him cash in the long run. (That's how I read it in any case)

My best guess is a multiplication of "$45" over "10 years"...which always will be a terrible terrible argument for many reasons.
1. It's optional. Not interested in the features? Then don't buy it.
2. $45 isn't the cost currently...and you can always choose to buy it later in a sale.
3. We don't know how many years it will be in development for. Could be another 3...could be another 20.
4. You expect the devs to continue updating the game and providing online servers forever because you payed once? Potentially even in a really cheap steamsale?
5. Not satisfied with what the game offers yet? Hold off a couple of years until you are and THEN buy the latest "complete package bundle" instead.
It's like saying you have payed $1300 for EVE Online (based on their current 12 month cost and 10 years) which is roughly three times the cost. Technically this is correct...you HAVE payed that, but comparing it to a one time purchase doesn't make sense. Also, in the case of EVE Online you don't have an option to not buy...don't pay, don't play. As a consumer I rather have the ability to choose if I want the new features or not. And even if I choose not to pay for the latest expansion I will still be able to play with everyone else AND continue to get some rather significant updates anyway for the version of the game I DO have.
But I guess it's easy for me to say that...since I already have an lifetime pass.
Nobody knows but FD. My guess would be August 17. Because that's the first day of Gamescom 2016. Last year they announced Horizons at Gamescom and the LEP went on sale so they may do the same this year if they announce season 3 there. Though I have a hunch that season 3 might be revealed later this year.

Not entirely sure what the conversion rate is though. This link suggests around 5 billion dollars.

I suspect their productivity would take a slight hit.
First they would have to take time constructing a HUGE vault so they can do this...
...and then deal with the consequences when reality hits them!

I will be v interested if the LEP comes back and if it does for how much,
last year at £120 - assuming the purchaser already had ED, then there needs to be 4 seasons inc horizons to make getting the LEP worth while which if frontier are actually going to be producing content for 10 years is a total no brainer.
if the LEP goes on sale for say ~£100 then imo it is safe to say everything is going to plan.............
if it doesn't go on sale then I will be worrying that FD are not convinced they will be supporting the game long enough to warrant one, and if it goes on too cheap I will worry that they are getting desperate for cash.
