When is Weather coming?

The new Themes and DLCs are great. I want to thank Frontier for that awesome Stuff.
But since Release, in my opinion, a really huge Part of simulation is missing. I‘m talking about (basic) Weather and its Influence on the Simulation,Management and Difficulty of the Parks.

I‘m not talking about apocalyptic Scenarios like Tornados or Flood. I‘m talking about the flattest basics like Sunny, Cloudy, Rain, Snow and Thunderstorm.

Is there any Plan if this is on the Roadmap for Upcoming Features.. Or even planned to be added?

Would be nice to get some Informations about that, since this is really a basic... And as i know, PC is the „Simulation evolved“, but misses this big basic simulation aspect :/

Hmmmm, just like glass was never going to added???

Ditto'ng this. Are there potential issues? Yep. Does that mean it shouldn't be implemented, or there aren't lower-resource ways to implement it? Nope.

I want some basic weather. I want guests scrambling for shelter in bad weather (and if it's too resource-intensive for the guest brain to figure out what is and isn't shelter then let me designate it). I wanna sell flexi-color striped umbrellas that pop up all over the park when it rains! And I'm willing to pay DLC-price for it.

Can't imagine they'd say something would never be added, having no plans to add it is another thing entirely.

It certainly should be another thing entirely, yes. In practical terms the devs say "we have no plans to X" which is followed by variations on "they said they weren't gonna do it, will you shut up about it already? They don't have to do it just because you want it!!!!!" whenever somebody brings it up. [rolleyes]

What's the difference between RCT3 and this? The game engine? RCT3 had rain and thunderstorms but you couldn't turn it off and you couldn't control when it happened. I'd rather have it sunny all the time or if we get weather have an option to turn it off.

The problem is the Engine. the criticism of the RCT-3 series was the rain get's through the buildings. To prevent that for happening in Planet Coaster they need to evolve the whole engine into something new and possible to create weather. So for now i don't see it implemented very soon. Also because you got the problem that the engine Frontier is using now can't handle it. (Quote from the DEV team).

Not this again... why create another thread?

We already have weather, it's fine and sunny all the time, which is a good thing.

You can add localised weather effects like clouds, rain, lightning... and notice the performance drop when you add too many.

Theme parks are not fun in real life when it rains. Everyone wants nice weather not miserable weather.

If it rains they will need to stop rain coming inside buildings; guests will need to behave differently when undercover; puddles on ground; wet surface textures outside only; and so on. A massive technical headache killing your framerate, all for what? What benefit? So a few management fans can sell more umbrellas, close down their coasters, shut down fireworks shows? Sounds like 20 minutes of fun before you turn the feature off permanently.

OP needs to find a weather simulator game or something.

"I'm not going on Rollercoaster 1 while it is raining" No thank you. I can see why people would like it, but pretty much all of your Rides would be avoided when they are not buried underground. I didn't miss this feature one bit.

HOWEVER: I would like to see something like a leaf emitter. So we can stick it into trees :D Not a 100 leaves per minute, but every once in a while :D

If weather was implemented, it doesn´t mean it would have to work the same as in previous games and nobody would go on rides. Maybe just some people. It´s all matter of how to implement it. But I don´t think we have to "worry" about this in anyway, this is probably not going to happen in PC...

have you seen their latest Jurassic game trailer??? they have extreme weather and spline based fencing...just saying. I know the engines, coding, etc. may be different...but you never know.

This. I want weather and a fencing tool added so badly! :(

I can see this going one of two ways: they add it to PlanCo (or put it in PlanCo2?) after test-bedding it in the Jurassic game, or anybody over here wanting 'em in PlanCo gets told something like "You want weather and spline-fencing? Go play the Jurassic game!" [uhh]

rain is perfect situation to have in game.
the same that they thit whit time machine, to set the time of the day to night and back

just skin over the screen for us, whit people that buy umbrula's perfect to see
