when it comes to old c64 games like elite

The Commodore 64 people still kick today (probably the reason i play Elite, the nostalgic thing in my head like a virus when David Braben announced his c64 game in the german tv)
hence i saw the latest release this year and this game looks like an amiga game.10 years of work behind -> https://www.knightsofbytes.games/samsjourney
I wonder how many people from the old c64 are still coding ? There is Fairlight c64 where the main coder works for Battlefield.
Sorry for my crazy post just want to say C64 is the spirit and i know Elite has its issues but remember FDEV is not EA (that evil company who eats the poor developers , hi westwood!)
We got oldskools here.I remember the sentence from Braben in 1988 in that show saying "i want people to play in some kind of network, multiplayer like. When Dreams come true.
Also when u watch this show in the audience are members from RADWAR 1941 .. now think on this https://eddb.io/station/6276

Yeah, but let's be honest here, the Spectrum was better :D
Maybe some aspects of it. But C64 sound chip is so much better than speccies horrible beeper that it alone makes C64 the winner! ;)

And please, STOP the machinewar right now!
If you want to praise some other 8bit machine, create your own thread.

Besides, i'm just sour grapes. I asked my parents for a Commodore 64 or Spectrum one christmas... I got this....

Some C64 titles had fantastic music, I even recorded them to tapes and everyone thought I'm nuts to listen to them. C64 pretty much kickstarted my ever lasting love of electronic music.

Nah, the Amiga 500 was far superior, to anything!
Now come on.

This thread isn't about Spectrum or Amiga, this thread is about Commodore 64 and especially the amazing fact that people are still coding on it, pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved on that hardware!

And let's not forget SLAY Radio.

I already lost my mind about how Elite was able on Spectrum. Or Lords of Midnight. At least the C64 had a floppy to load additional data.

I began copying code from magazines into the Spectrum. That got me interested in fractals. My first mandelbrot I generated with the C64.

Snap!!! That brings back memories, I wanted a Spectrum 128 +2 and got a Commodore Plus 4. To be fair they were stacked up about a mile high at knock down prices in Department stores and a lot cheaper so can't blame my parents (doubt they could afford the Plus 4 either really).

Ah fond memories of Fire Ant and Pirate Island. I was super unlucky Xmas day because my Plus 4 had no electronics inside, it was just an empty case and I had to wait a few days for the shops to open for a replacement!!! Thankfully I had a Radio controlled KITT to play with from Father Christmas lol

Well if we are traveling down that path, here is my input and my first taste of Elite; The BBC Master! o7
"When i was a lad games came on a tape cassette and you had to manually adjust the volume control on the tape player to get it to load, normally though after 15 minutes you would get the dreaded message Syntax error!" LMAO
