When placing new habitat, a hill appears??

Hi everybody,

I am asking this question for my 12 year old son.
When he buyes a new habitat and places it in his zoo, automaticly some sort of hill appears.
We tried everything to get it down to ground level, but nothing seems to work.
Visitorts and staff cannot seem to reach the habitat because of this.
Does anybody have an idea how to fix this? He is very sad he cannot continue the game now :)

Hi!

You mean "buy a habitat" as in putting down a blueprint from the Steam workshop? If that is the case, then the habitat blueprint probably includes the terrain work (the hill in your case) and it comes with the habitat. You should be able to alter it with the terrain tools.

Maybe you could provide a screenshot of the problem? :)

To add to what Swjosdotschka said the best way to see when it's lowered to the correct height is to look at the path that the employee gates create and see if it's on the ground or if it's elevated. When it's flat on the ground click it in place.

Good point. Oh, and when you have a hard time with Shift and the mouse, just select the habitat and hit "X" and three arrows will appear. Use the upper arrow to move the habitat closer to the ground.

Do you mean the X on the keyboard? Tried it, but no arrows appear...

Great!
We placed a new habitat, that we got to ground level!
Still we cannot seem to be able to alter the excisting habitats.
Is there any way we can delete them, so we can place new ones the right way?

The reason for not being able to change existing habitats, is probably because you haven't enabled that.
There is a tickbox in the game settings menu (under game) that would allow for terrain manipulation through existing barriers and objects.

You can try deleting the barrier to edit the terrain then replacing it as well. There also may be some objects in the habitat that prevent terrain modification as well.
