When the real world feels like Elite (timelapse video)

A 10 minute timelapse video of a cargo ship travelling between Sri Lanka, Singapore and into Hong Kong. Some of the night shots are very reminiscent of gameplay in Elite, and the timelapse makes it feel very alive (even though it is spread out over 30 days). One for the haulers to watch while travelling to Hutton for the mug :D

I do wish that Elite could capture a bit more of this sense of busy, occupied and lived in.

Enjoy!

If you just want the highlights then take the following time stamps:

0:00 Approach and docking at Port Colombo, Sri Lanka
1:45 undocking from Port of Colombo (direct link) - this will feel very familiar!
4:25 approaching and docking at Singapore (direct link)
8:40 docking at Hong Kong (direct link)

Great video!
Some amazing shots of the milky way.
Also reminds me of the next thing I want to see in elite. Atmospheres! :)

Amazing video, and 8 million views!

So not much point asking questions on YT, but some things occurred to me:

1. Damn he's like on the Ferrari of ships... motoring past almost all others.
2. The sea is remarkably flat
3. The traffic! Incredibly busy. Must be hell to navigate such a huge vessel safely.
4. Docking and cranes: just cool.
5. Skies.

Amazing video ! Thanks for sharing.

It is a bit like Elite in a lot of ways, especially if you are a trader.

I think the thing that struck me the most was how busy the sea is. I thought you would go for days without seeing another ship, when out at sea and away from ports that is.
