When will rare goods and escape pods be back after the "temporary" removal?

It has been 4 months since rare goods and escape pods being disabled "temporarily" from power play. The in game UI is still suggesting these activities for some non-combat powers, although they provide 0 merit except as weekly mission rewards.
While I understand that a lot is going on with the new trailblazer update, power play 2.0 is also a pretty new feature, and its issues are just as important, if not more. The system colonization claim was paused temporarily for one week, these disabled activities as a big part of power play system should receive the same attention.

And not just rare goods and escape pods, there are other annoying issues in power play at the moment such as care packages, ppczs, etc. It would be great if the power play big issues can be resolved while the colonization system is being fixed.

When i returned i joined LYR, because i heard they get merits from rares, and the one thing i remember from back in the days when i first played was running rares around in a cobra, was rather disapointing to hear that they had been disabled for months, and with not a single update on em too....

Yeah, this bit is not acceptable after such a long time. It's more than bad enough that there are many things that can cause merits not to be awarded for "working as intended" reasons which are poorly documented or indeed not documented at all (e.g. explo data thresholds), so it's hard for people to be sure if they have made a "mistake" of the "shuda read the in-game docs" flavour, or of the "game doesn't tell you at all" flavour.
Anyone not reading out-of-game websites for info (e.g. here!) will end up very frustrated by this stuff.

To then add a "disabled intentionally and not even mentioned in the UI" on the top is really just nasty. If it had been just the couple of weeks that I had hoped for, no biggie, but 4 months is having a laugh. It's grossly disrespectful to the players whose time is wasted and whose enjoyment of the game is diminished.

To be honest, the way the whole PP2 features and system was knee-jerk handled/adjusted then apparently abandoned put me off it and is the main reason I never paid Arx for the new Cobra. In the end, I platinum mined my way through PP2 to unlock the rewards, and now I never have to intentionally touch it again.

The purpose of a system is what it does. So after 4 months, I think it's safe to conclude that they are intended to remain disabled permanently, and you should operate on the assumption that they're not coming back.
I agree. PP2 is done and will remain the same for the next decade. Let's just hope they fix bugs there.

Maybe I'm missing the OP's point, but I joined a power for my first time yesterday evening. I managed both the rares and the escape pod tasks (as well as the scanning/bounty/undermining deliveries) to complete the first week's assignments. Is it to do with a particular power?

Rares and escape pods used to give a few merits even if you didn't have a task asking for them, and some game UI information still implies that you do. It was disabled "temporarily" some months ago and FD have gone quiet about it.

This is all good except that "what it does" has an internal conflict - you don't get merits for doing things that the in-game UI says will award merits.
If they removed the incorrect UI info and then never restored merits for rares/pods, it would at least be self-consistent.

Stuff like this is why I am hesitant to really get back in the game. Most of my friends quit a long time ago because of issues like this, but I really want to give FDEV the benefit of the doubt. The attention they are giving the game now is very promising, but they need to either address or fix some of this stuff. PP2.0 is a NEW feature, and they already seem to have moved on from it. Lots of folks I know would def play again if FDEV communicated better. Some of these bugs are game-breaking, and forget immersion when there is zero point participating in some PP activites because of this annoying stuff.

Honestly, I can't understand why so many people are so fixated with "rares" and "escape pods". Seriously, why do you even care? There's so many other things in PP2 that you can do, why are you obsessed with these two things in particular? What's so utterly important and crucial about these two things that it warrants complaining about it so vehemently?

I saw in another thread someone recommending people to boycott the entire game... because "rares" and "escape pods" were disabled. I mean, come on. Seriously?

Forget about those and just play the game. What exactly is so utterly important about those two things? Sheesh.

I fear it’s going to be like the temporary ban on liquids on planes. 😬

Obviously, I have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes but there seems to be a focus on new features, so I wouldn’t hold my breath.
