When will we see the last 3.x (hot)fix?

Given how FDEV worked in the last years,

once they start into a certain stage of the next update, they stop fixing bugs on the live server, as it could interfere with the code of the next release that is already written,
or they just say: "oh, the playerbase can wait until the next release in 6 month, for this bug to be fixed"

since they already told us, that working on the next DLC has already started,
i wonder when we could expect the last bugfix for the current version.

have fleet carriers been delayed into the new content dlc patch, or somewhere between 3.3 and 4.0 ?

Multicrew bugfixes seem to be delayed to "we will fix them when we introduce spacelegs and have to rewrite the stuff anyway"

Oldschool mining laser issues have been delayed to the big mining update... wait that was just a month ago and nothing was fixed
multiple stars as light sources will be fixed in the great lighting engine upgrade... when was that about to happen again?

There's only a couple of things they need to fix - the 20 secs freezing and maybe the abrasion blaster 'exploit'. Once those are done they will probably concentrate on the 4.x releases.

I agree with Anni, there are quite some unfulfilled promises yet.

lol - he's just picking some of the things on peoples wishlists - why not add spacelegs and atmos planets as well :)

Pretty sure FDev views the game as 'building a world' and intends people to work out for themselves how to progress in that world. From that point of view anything that doesn't actively break the world (freezes), or break the economy / progression (mining) is actually fine.

I guess we'll find out in January, but it will probably be like after every-beta-ever where some folk always say 'well, they can't release it until X,Y and Z are addressed' and are promptly proved wrong :D

Assuming that the dlc update is end of March beginning of April then possibly as late as mid February
.

Abrasion blaster might not get fixed - I suspect they will just tank the prices on void opals etc.
The lag thing is probably comms server and will get fixed - real bugs are stuff like bg and faction stuff working back to front - that's probably a realtively easy fix if someone has inverted a variable someplace perhaps.
We might see some tweaks to the exploring and mining - probably not for the better - eg continual pulsing in belts wil probably stop being usefull in identifying core asteroids (yes I am cynical :p).

Is the abrasion blaster trick officially announced as 'exploit'?

I made a post regarding this asking FDEV if they could clarify exploit or feature.

It could be either in my opinion.

You only get 1 chunk per abrasion blaster, and the chunk is only released if the shot from each blaster shots hit the target.

So it could be a feature rather than a bug.

Currently the only ship able to get 5 chunks is the asp explorer, though it has a limit on how much cargo it can carry, 2-3 roids and your full.
SO a lot of flying back and forth to sell your wares, makes doing mining missions quicker, but that cargo capacity cap hurts, adds some time having to fly back and sell.

It doesn't work on the bigger ships the hardpoints are not set up well enough you be lucky to get 3 chunks per shot.
So on the ships where this feature/exploit would really come in handy, it doesn't as filling that big cargo hold full is going to take longer.

If your fitting multiple abrasion blasters, losing hardpoints for weapons to defend yourself, so it does have its drawbacks.

no faith anymore i think finished when star citizen is

will at least take half a year for freezes and mabe up a year to cz isues, o wait the promised fixing that old cz isus years ago and now we got more.

cu in x4

spacelegs was not anounced for beyond, neither was atmos planets.
i mentioned the lighting upgrade, as the only thing that i could identify as upgrade, was the volumetric lights for god-rays in belts.
not tested yet, but that one probably only works for the main star, not for any other light source, like our ships lights.

for anything else they have just added post processing filters.
the ice planets got delayed, probably to be packaged with new landable planets in the next DLC (maybe those with liquids but no atmosphere.

i mentioned multicrew, since it was a horizons mechanic that was basically ignored by 99% of the Beyond fixes (especially the wing mission fail)
and there a still fundamental bugs for multicrew to make it usable for more things.
namely all those utility slot scanner don't work,
and as a minor, but anyoing bug: the turreted flechette is bugged since it was released...
and the inability to shoot at thargoid hearts...
...

but thats another topic.
i just wonder if there will be actual clientside bugfixes until the DLC hits.

Just made 12 Mio in a single mining session with my CMk4! For the same outcome I would have to do a wing delivery mission for no less than 5888 units of silver. The 'balance' in ED never fails to amaze me. And then we're seriously concerned about exploits... :p

Your slacking CMk4 should be turning in 25-35 Mill per trip for mining
tongue.gif

That isn't an exploit, it's just the max you can get with prices as they are right now - that will prob change - number of blasters doesn't affect that total either - it might shave 5 - 10 mins of your mining time is all.
Also ED has never been a game where money mattered that much once you get a starting "seed" - hopefully it never will, there is always some way to min\max the money.
Right now ships in the Cobra to size Krait range seem to be the sweet spot for mining - yes you can take a "big" ship, but it's not time efficient - I am somewhat tempted to see if I can make a viable type 10 to mine in Haz rez while killing pirates, but it wouldn't be efficient (fun probably though).

so, DEVs are back fro holidays,
the QA team is working through the bug reports,

and the first game breaking bug is already confirmed as going to be fixed "soon" (abrasion blaster)
guesses for the hotfix?
the multicrew reward hotifix, that was server-side only took 8 weeks... lets see how long this will take.

"game breaking bug is already confirmed as going to be fixed "soon" (abrasion blaster)"...err no, it's not game breaking at all !.

Personally I regard it as an unintended feature (yes it's officialy a bug I know) and will be sad to see it's demise.

I'm a bit disappointed there wasn't a patch for today. The game freezes / disconnections must be a high priority. Abrasion blaster should be taking a lower priority, since its not critical.

I'm guessing we'll see the last 3.x patch up until 4.x is released. :)

I think they would be much better served replacing the ADS to its proper place. The opals thing is not a big deal. Whos with me?

Why are people thinking the abrasion blaster bug is priority 1 top of the list OMG this needs fixed asap?

Is it perhaps just that, rather than Frontier having that issue at the top of the list, the forum has assumed Frontier has it at the top of the list so we can complain about having it at the top of the list?

i wonder how many have the ability to detect sarcasm on the internet ;)

we don't know WHAT they will fix with top priority -
the only thing i am pretty sure about, is the bug with the turreted flechette wont be fixed anytime soon.

if i had a top priority list - it would be:
1. freezes
2. empty combat zones
3. dead born prospector limpets.
4. (exploitable) stacking of abrasion blaster
5. (exploitable) instancing of USS's
6. Multicrew mechanics that are bugged since multicrew was released (mostly scanner)
7. galmap not having a filter for first stage of thargoid attacks.
...
