When you quit the game ...

Yeah, I know how he feels. When I'm waiting for someone else to do a part of the project I need before I can get on with my part I just tell the boss I'm going home to play Elite Dangerous. It's great that he's such a poor project planner that he can't hand out multiple tasks at the same time.

I think he's saying when he has enough time to get up and make a cup of coffee while waiting for his ship to be transferred 100ly then the games broken. He's obviously never transferred anything to Colonia

Oooooooh, those transfer times... Now I feel a little slooooow...

Actually the ship transfer times are long(ish) for a reason. You can't escape into a station in a 'Winder ane come out seconds later in a 'Vette. Unless one is parked there already. Travel times are too long, though. I feel I spend 90% of the time just going places and that is hardly acceptible for a game.

I've generally just started a transfer before logging out for a bit, or for the night. Worked fine so far, for any bubble stuff.

Did forget the stupid Python was hot, though. Wish you could clean them remotely for "naughty" level stuff and beating on NPCs, if not "felony" level stuff of going on murder rampages. I only killed skimmers, sheeeeee.

Yeah that's usually best, but in Colonia I equipped my Python with a mining laser and went ring mining while waiting for my T6 to be transferred, there's always something to do.

I didn't have a problem at all with the Sol-Colonia transfer times. Sure, it takes 61 hours ... but unless I did nothing but honk-jump for all my waking hours, it'd take about that long to move most ships anyway. So it's just something you set going and then a few days later the ship arrives.

The 12 minute transfer times for the short-range transfers, on the other hand, are just really irritating. If you're trying to do something with another player, it's just a 12-minute delay before you get started ... but even when working alone it's not really enough time to do many other things either - a round trip with missions takes quite a bit longer than that unless you're very lucky with station-star distances, it's too short for a good bounty-hunting session, definitely too short for a good mining session, etc.
