Where am I looking?

Anyone else find that their gaze doesn't always match up to where the game thinks you're looking when you're looking straight ahead? It would be nice if FD included a VR option to properly position your gaze.

Yes, i have that sometimes, but i use HMD recenter while slightly moving my head until it feels right. Takes 10 seconds or less.

It's not a orientation issue.

It is that the rift consider "dead ahead" about 2cm below what I do :p
Takes a little getting used to, not such a bad thing in ED but was very apparent in Mage's tale.

You could try tweaking the height you put in as part of the Oculus calibration process. The other thing you could try ... so when I'm in the SRV I sometimes seem to be slightly too low (like my head is down at shoulder level). What I do is to hunker down in my chair, then press F12, then sit back up straight again.

Yup, mine is always off center with the view slightly too far to the left. I have to look a little in one direction a slight amount and then re-center in game for my view to be 100% straight ahead. Elite is the only game I have this issue with so I assume its something to do with the game.

I have to do the same thing. I always assumed it was the Rift because mine also has the "left tilt" issue but you're right it probably is the game because I haven't noticed it in other titles either. I recently re-installed the Oculus software which meant going through the setup again and it has made no difference. Sensor is dead centre in front of me.

Mine is exactly the same.

I have a vive, btw.

Well I think that pretty much concludes that it is a minor game bug then. I seem to recall it happening with my DK2 as well... I guess I just got used to moving my head a little to the left, pressing back into my chair and recentering in order to line things up nice over the years!

I have not noticed this problem (anywhere).

I'd assume it's related to asymmetrical heads.

Probably less about assymetry in facial structure, but to me I have a slight posture issue.
Might be that I favour my right eye and thus tend to orient my head slightly to the left and not really looking dead ahead.

Usually the directions seem right to me (other than having to reset the HMD orientation every time I start ED). But I was noticing last night that selecting a target on a planet that I'm approaching (search zones, for instance), that the "hot spot" in my field of view felt like it was a little to the left of center. As if it was trying to center it in the left eye's field of view, like the screenshot system does. Interesting.
