Newcomer / Intro Where are Community Goals Advertised?

OK time to open the bag of stupid questions one more time.

How are current community goals advertised? Is it in the Gal News feed, or do i have to be in the right system to find them? I understand that the goals are picked up from the BB, but how do i find out where the current community goals are?

I've added the thread to my subscriptions. There seems to be a lot of chat, but hopefully i'll be able to see the announcements. I see the latest has just ended today. Is there only a single community goal per week?

I believe there is usually multiple but I've really not keep pace with it - the Spear of Lugh was the first CG I have been involved with :)

I would hope that that there is one in each of the major faction areas, or i'm going to have to traipse across the galaxy to get involved. Oh well at least I'll be able to cash in the Alliance and Empire bounties that I've been amassing recently.

I had to traipse for the one in Lugh - took me over an hour to get there... When there are ones I do not think there is one in each major faction of space.

The story of behind the community goal tends to say where the community goal will be placed and just like any natural event sometimes there will be one, sometimes two etc... It would look unnatural if community goals would always appear for each faction - but that's just my opinion :)

Fair point. The CGs are supposed to be part of the game story after all. I'm just wondering if it's worth my while given that I'm only a casual player, though it would be nice to get involved.

I am a casual player, maybe 1-2 hours every couple of days (sometimes more on the weekends). Depends on how casual you are :)

When I get back home tonight I will see where I finished in the Spear of Lugh. I made over a million in combat bonds and hope to be in at least the top 70% for a large reward.

How much you get as a rewards depends on the tier it reaches before it ends and how many players are all competing for it. So for me it will vary through out the community goals in the future.

This one was combat but others are trading so you tend to pick the ones you are more comfortable with.

There also seems to be always a minimum reward even if you are not able to contribute lots to the goal.

I assume that the Spear of Lugh being combat orientated was PvP rather than NPC killing. Doubt that I would excel at that!

"Good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living, that's something else."

It was PVP and PVE as there were NPC's flying on both sides. If you play solo or in a private group then it is PVE.

Definitely worth it.

I got in on the last day of the disrupt convoy cg in Lugh and came away with about a million credits including war bonds earned and tier reward. Wish I'd read about it sooner.
