Judging from FD support, they are deliberately removed due of Engineer mods.

I think you are right.
It would seem the bi-weave effect will be part of a improved regen mod that the engineers should be able to do.
Still a bit annoying though, if I had known I wouldn't have sold mine.
The hell they do that for I love the biweave shields and I refuse to go grind for theI effect. FD please bring them back.

It's not yet clear if you can swap it either from the support post. I'd keep them where they are until there's some clarification.

They were removed, it is not a bug. Only player ship's that have them equipped before the patch will hold onto them until sold. https://twitter.com/Frontier_Help/status/736873576868028416
It's my guess they discovered an engineer buff made them too powerful, or they are no longer as effective as standard shields when modded and they want to rebalance them; but thats pure conjecture.

They.. removed them? That is asinine. I have used nothing but Bi-Weave since I found my first one. The only POSSIBLE reason I can think of to justify it is stacking regen from Bi-Weave and + regen mods. Though.. if I remember correctly the +regen also does -capacity... so stacking the two would make your shields worse not better I think. Anyway... my FDL will be keeping the BWs it has equipped until the day I decide to trade it out for another ship.. or until they force them off legacy equips. [sour] I am disappoint.

Anyone got a link to an actual source in Frontier confirming that the Bi-weave Shields are out of the game now? This seems just wild speculation.
I seem to have them still on my ships. I will need to confirm whether they are actually just C-class with a fancy name and nothing more.
