Where are the PvP hotspots?

Greetings Commanders,

yesterday evening I set out with a fellow Commander to look for some trouble. We are aligned with Arissa Lavigny-Duval and went into Winters' space for some expansion opposition. We are not the most experienced PvPer so we were planning on getting our asses kicked.

We picked the well-known system of Aulin, because it was relatively close (expansion vs. oppsition) yesterday evening, and being a well-known system from the old beta bubble we thought that's where the action would be.

However, not a single CMDR. We had to jump ~120 ly (which takes some time in Vultures), played for an hour or two, then heading off to Sigma Bootis. In both systems, we didn't see another player.

It may be naive, but I was hoping for a couple of Commanders on patrol, defending their space against enemies. I do know not everyone plays in open, but I thought there would have been at least some opposition.

Whats your experience? Was it bad matchmaking (our Wing worked fine, for the most part). Or is everyone pledged to Hudson on the Federation side?

Foreign expansion systems are where the fighting (should) be at. Once all a power's systems are fortified, it's a race to see who can come out on top: underminers or preparers.

Yesterday was very very quiet but even so the majority of players that I see are "no faction". I rarely see faction aligned humans in space, most (like me) come up as "no faction" and yesterday I didn't see a single faction aligned human and I traveled through the entire controlled area of Hudson and Torval (including HQ system). Saturday I saw one Hudson player in Torval space and a couple of Torval players around LT 9810 (the Hudson player was interdicting traders there).

Since PP started live I've pretty much toured every empire, fed and pirate controlled system since it launched and I have no idea where aligned players are, maybe in solo?

I moved to solo because in the A.L.-Duval expansion system "crime sweeps", there are too many players competing for kill merits.
If you want PVP, just drop into one of those (not sure what it's called in other powers). Every player I've seen in the expansion system is aligned.
