Where did everybody go?

I remember a time when combat CG's always reached Tier 8, even before the full deadline. Now across 3 platforms we have 3650 contributors and barely scraping below Tier 6.

Quick, FD, Red Dead is stealing your boys. Get the update out, quick! ;)

And give me some free paints, since I'm a good boy.

People have been doing these for years now. They haven't changed. It's the same every week. Back in the day, CG reward was a lot of cash, now you make that amount in about an hour. Other/new stuff to do in Elite now (e.g. Thargoids).

Take your pick.

CGs are pretty monotonous, and considering you can get the Top 20% or whatever reward with 1 mission run in a T9 or Cutter not very viable either.

A significant proportion of players, who are not committed to other tasks in the game, will likely be playing in Beta. This is not a favorable time for CGs.

Expect a CG special at, or shortly after, the time when the new update has gone live. Perhaps a mining CG, seeing as it has so many new features.

Yep. CGs covering all the new stuff would be nice.

But the missions associated with the station offering the CGs turn out to be profitable as rep increases when you ship stuff in or hand in bounties. I usually make more credits from those than the CG, so I view the CG credits as an extra bonus at the end.

Games bugged on console...if the fix is in Q4 then return one may...no fix no return...simples.

Oh and rdr2 is just pure class...game of the year no contest ^

Perhaps players are already occupied with other stuff. I'm usually in a wrong galactic arm when there's a CG I might consider spending a few hours with. I don't think every CG is supposed to be that interesting, like some place you've never been to building a new station or whatever. Unless you are into that sort of thing and want to visit new places.

Got bored doing the CG and went somewhere else to pop scouts instead.

The last few combat CGs have been fairly quiet though, maybe due to the beta as suggested.

Must admit, I've been distracted by the Thargoid stuff recently.
Bumped into a few Cmdrs I've not seen before.

It's a lot of fun fighting scouts, a nice change from RES and CZ and good to try out different flight tactics and weapons.

Been meaning to do it for ages and glad I did! I know I'll get smooshed by the big ones though :D

I rarely even look at the cg's anymore. It's usually the same old "bring us this stuff" or "shoot these people", it was fun for a while but not so much now.

There were a few interesting ones a while back, the search and rescue one, thargoid parts one and the best of all, the bugged Empire one that accidentally paid hundreds of millions :) unfortunately I only knew about that right as it finished lol.

They really need to be something different. It's a huge shame the "photography" thing never happened, it would be fun to have a CG where you had to take pictures of stuff and hand them in.
Or, one based on the number of systems mapped in a week, or an evil faction offering a reward for player kills (why not lol, it would be different), or logs collected from generation ships, maybe even fastest time to complete some sort of race (we've got timers in game, wouldn't be that difficult to have something to collect after a timer starts and reward players according to how quickly they reach the end and scan the second point or whatever).

I don't know, just anything really that isn't straight delivery and bounty hunting every week :)

I CG when I want to CG.
I CG'd Meene last week to clean up occupied escape pods.
Even gave a few commanders some good tips to help them CG a bit better.

I CG if there is some global award that catches my interest.

Otherwise, I occupy my time doing other things that entertain me, or beta testing when there's a beta to test.
