Horizons Where did the Elite Anaconda missions go?

Hi all,

I recently started playing Elite again after a long time away, and I can no longer find missions to hunt down Elite Anacondas. These used to be bountiful at one point and was my main source of income in my Viper Mk III I think they were bounty/assassination missions.

Now, the best paid missions seem to be the 'Rescue Hostage', but they pay less than 200k and from what I've researched are full of bugs... Also, the Nav points seem to have far less 'Wanted' contacts than before, maybe it's just me.

Do i really have to become a trader now? [sad]

Yes... well no :)

They have assassination missions now that are pretty cool. First you have to find your targets location by scanning a data point at a ground base (if you have horizons that is). Then that reveals where your target is, then you go and kill it. Of course if you don't have horizons, I don't know if they still have those kill missions like that. Also go to a HazRez if you want to fight high level AIs, including conda, fdl, python, etc. Beware they are a bit stronger than they used to be.

Thanks for the reply, I am still struggling to see which missions these are, and do they really pay less thank 200k now?

Assassination missions now pay upwards to 2 million credits plus.

You just have to be allied with the faction to have good chances of getting them.

As Jet6R6 said they can pay a lot of money, I didn't take 2 in a row for 1.5M each because I had to go to sleep and didn't want the time ticking away, but yes. You can usually find them on factions that are ready to expand, they want you to take out leaders of neighboring areas so they can expand there.

It's all about your rank and rep.

I'm taking 1-1.5 Mil assassinations every time I play, depending on the day.

I lucked out that I already had Allied Rep in my home system of Altair when I updated the game, and the mission payouts were so much higher than any other place I went, that I have just been sticking close to home and making a ton of $$ in the process!

Those Illegal Antiquities missions seem to pay the highest of all the Salvage type (1 to 3.5 million CR), followed by Pirate Lord Assassination missions, and WETWORK*

(*Not worth it though cause of bounty hunter harrassment)

These high paying missions are usually higher rank missions that you get to do because of your high Allied Rep with the mission giver (s).

No need to go looking for them in 2.1, they'll find you.

Over and over.

For ever and ever.

If you are lucky,it might be an Fdl.

Or not.

Meh.
