Where do I find decent pay bounties?

So I've got my first ship which Im trying to pew pew with and learn some flight skills. Heres the build

I went to some RES(low) and all the bounties were tiny like around 10k and they blew up real easy. Where do I find better targets? I tried to nav beacon too and got same results.

Try your luck at High Res sites, or if you feel lucky, Haz Res or Comp Nav Beacons. At the last 2 you are on your own, as in there will be no SySec helping you.

Tinkered with your build a little:

Gave it more hull and shield and changed the distributor and SCB. I would change the lasers for rail guns, and the multies for frags, but that more a personal favorite.

Hazardous res sites, but if you're working your way into combat, you might want to try a high res first. Main difference is haz res sites don't have any cops and far more dangerous pirates. High res sites do have some cops but they're less use than at low res sites.

You can also try a compromised navigation beacon rather than a regular fully-functioning one.

Ninja'd x3 obviously :D

What about switch the lasers for rails and the multis for plasma accelerators? Well at least the 2 L spots

Better targets? Or better bounties?

If you want better targets, either:
  • Wing Assasination Missions (Engineered targets)
  • Find a system where the controller is in Civil Unrest or Lockdown, and go to Threat 5&6 Pirate Attack sites. All targets are fully engineered.
  • Go to a High Intensity CZ. NPCs are bullet sponges, and Spec Ops ships are a substantial threat.

If you want better bounties, go massacre stacking and watch the credits roll in.

Sadly, with the way the game is structured right now, "best paid" and "harder targets" are mutually opposed concepts.

I just wanted best paid. That link just says get allied with all factions near an anarchy system then do massacre and assasination mission?

Specifically within 10Ly of a single anarchy faction, and ensuring you take massacres offered by different factions.

This ensures all assassination and massacre missions target the one faction, in the one system, for optimal stacking (and therefore, optimal payouts).

At elite rank, allied to faction, you can get 40m for 30 kills for a single massacre mission, so cross stacked across five or six factions, that is roughly 6-7m per kill. Throw in some assassinations, which pay 4-5m, and that's 12m per target.

Non-optimally this will earn you close to 100m/h. Done optimally, up to 200m+ an hour. Fair warning the targets will be weak and not particularly challenging though.

Tripitaka and Sveit (both targeting San Yax) are examples of such systems where you can do this.

Could I do this in the ship I have?

What is the best way to gain rep with faction?

The locations where you can regularly find targets when not doing missions are as follows, listed In order of increasing numbers and risk.
  • Nav Beacon
  • Low RES
  • RES
  • High RES
Then without police support there are Hazardous RES and Compromised Nav Beacon.

There are also various signal sources that will provide targets but they aren’t in fixed locations.

Mission targets are based on the rank of the mission... so if you're low-rank combat, you'll be offered low-rank missions... lower rank missions have easier and fewer targets and do pay less, but that just makes them easier to stack.

That said, your chieftain is more than enough to deal with any targets the mission can throw at you. Fortunately, doing missions is also a good way to increase your rep, so win-win.

On the recommendation of a foum member (can't remember name, sorry), I went to Gende haz RES and got this payout - no missions, just bounty payouts. At the same time, I got another 400mil from the Interstellar factor for the KWS bonuses:

I think you'd be better off with a fighter if you want fastest earnings, and maybe change all the multi-cannons for lasers. I used an all laser Corvette. You need to do the level 5 powerplay to get double payouts, which is a bit of a bind the first time because it takes about 4 hours, but not so bad after that at about 90 minutes per week. You also need a kill warrant scanner that'll get you at least 30% more money. If you're not worried about earnings rate, none of that is important, but if you only do it for fun or combat training, a Vulture is what I'd use:

Haz RES is best for money. High RES best for ranking. Compromised nav beacon is best for short sessions. Don't forget that Anacondas, Gunships, Crusaders and Kraits can carry fighters, which will get you from behind as soon as you open fire.Make sure you know how to deal with bounties on you before you start because you'll get one sooner or later.

I know people toss the bounty scanner but you will also get more money if you scan the targets. Sometimes they die a bit faster than you can scan though.

Borann has a compromised nav beacons and a high res. Irula will get you missions to kill pirates there. Have fun

For lasers, long range is the best engineering. With rapid fire, you get a few percent more damage than unenginnered, but long range gives double, triple, ten times or a hundred times more damage if the enemy isn't filling up the whole of your windscreen. Drop-off on lasers starts at 500M!
