where do I sell destroyed ships parts?

Hi,

So no doubt you'll realise I'm new to the game but can someone tell me how to sell the ship parts of the ships I've killed? I collect the parts but don't seem to have them to sell when I enter a station or wherever.

You don't sell them they are used by the engineers to upgrade your modules

You use those parts to upgrade your ships with the engineers you'll find later

Those are materials that are meant to be used for the engineers to upgrade your ship. They don't show up in your inventory, so they can't be sold or bought.

They are displayed in your inventory, under materials. Right hand panel, inventory, materials.

No one's said it yet but you can only access the Engineers to upgrade your modules if you have Horizons.

No one has said it that not only can you not sell them, you cannot even offer them to others that may need them.

Space is big, but the minds behind it has yet to catch up

Would be nice if i could pay you a few million as a new player for the not so easy to find polymer capacitors that you just might rng into .... But ...nope!
