Horizons Where do master AI live?

I was flying in Zoqui Xuang and Lieledos today and had a couple of nasty surprises.
About to land at a station with a load of gold and suddenly I was interdicted, had half blue and half red.
Not good enough for that AI. I was suddenly spinning around and he blasted out my windshield while I was following him. Had to make a run for the nearby station. (Made it)

The other system , interdicted. 5 seconds later I was spinning. Stopped. Looked for the assailant. He flew past me, as in from back to front, and sent a rocket up my nose. (Dead me)
When did AI get rear shooting armament?

Oh yeah, no comment in game. Just quickly attacked for a kill. I was unloaded. It was purely for murder.

While I am on the subject of shooting, the AI seem to be able to turn on sixpence. I have been using the technique of slamming into reverse, because I can't turn quickly. The AI flies past me and I target him. He doesn't zoom around as I have to. He turns straight back to me with no zooms.
I am able to fight successfully with that technique as long as the ai are equal to me.

Some have whispered that they are the dark offspring of Prince Dakkar and the Mother of Minions
from the heart of a cold volcano,
deep in the black abyss,
lazer lab tested, raised on flight assisted off,
that Darwinistic prison Arena known as
Rura Penthe

That AI was probably using a FA off technique. I find that equiping at least one mine launcher or heat seeker missile launcher almost mandatory these days to discourage cretin AI.

Hahahahahah .........

In this cae there was no time for that. I didn't even have time to ready my weapons.
I will just put it down to bad luck.

What to do? What to do? Target him first? Ready weapons first? Get used to Hi-Jump every trip?

I can still hit the hostile button at start of blue circle game, throttle down and by then, I know if it is run or fight. In a low spec Clipper, I mostly run. Chaff, boost, pips between engines and shields. 5 seconds to jump. If they come back, I am already to high wake; however, I don't get many coming back. Not sure why? Mostly running missions, stacked.

Only change I have had to do since the new AI, is fit a point defence. No engineers fitted as of yet. Want to wait until it is A spec'd and see why everyone, loves the Clipper.

Yes, they have got better, much more interesting and you know I pay homage to the goddess, but they are still, just pixels.

Here is what happened as I remember it.
Interdiction (Very fast) Spun about 2 or 3 times (Stopped) "Under attack" (as frag flew past my ship) Ai went flying by and destroyed me with a rear facing rocket or bomb.
(Damn I was nuked!)
My FSD is 4A but still slow to spool up.

What is an FA off technique?

If your idea of fighting technique is to fly backwards, then your combat flight skills are basic at best.

Don't expect all AI to fly like untrained non-skilled pilots.

if you think it is a bug then fill a bug report. video evidences would help considering it or understanding what happened. there is a delay between player and AI spawning, so a video would show how didn't you have time to do anything.

good luck!

Switching to Flight Assist Off puts you into full Newtonian fight. It gives you more direct control over your ship's movement then you get using Flight Assist which, for want of a better term, is closer to an 'arcade' style flight model. It divorces your attitude from tour vector of movement.

I consider basic combatants to be superior to me!

Must try that. Thanks.

I noticed, tonight, that when in space, FSD spools up in 15 seconds. Flying off a planet it was 5 seconds. Is this normal? If so, why?
I think leaving a platform it was 5 seconds and leaving a Port it was 15 seconds, but not to sure of that.

The solution is simple. You grind your way through the Federal Navy ranks and buy a Federal Corvette. Next, you grind your way through all the engineers to get level 5 dirty drives and level 5 overpowered class 4 multi-cannons plus a few other things. Those Anacondas and other ships with miracle turning then change their behaviour. Instead of pointing at you all the time and jousting, they fly around aimlessly while you blast them to smithereens, like it was in 1.5.

If you haven't got an engineered fighting ship, don't fight the interdiction. Always submit, and then immediately boost and run away.
