I see the unknown signal sources. But how do you get there? I stop warp like right on top of them but see nothing. do you have to scan or something? this game gives no directions about anything lol. I really want to kill something. all I do is transport goods. and I don't want a wanted level.

Easiest way to kill stuff is to sit at the nav point near the star and scan all ships for bounties. LP 98-132 is a good place.
Target the ship and point your ship towards it. It will initiate the scan that will tell you whether it's wanted in the current system. You can see the status on the bottom left (panel with name, rank and wanted/clean states) or in contacts menu.

OK lock onto the USS, when within 12-09 secs depending on ship and piloting go to 75% speed, wait until you get shift allowance. Then you will get a pocket of space either with ships, a ship or some cargo (currently), Some may be wanted, or a trade ship, or just random stuff. Decide after what you want to do. Be advised that often wanted ships will be sharing faction standing with local authoraties. So choose wiseluy. Thisn phonesucks
You can also visit warzones. There are warzones (will come up as conflict zones during super cruise) near Eranin 2, Eranin 4, Eranin 6, Dahaan Gateway etc.
You probably fired the first shot before your ship completed the scanning of this someone as "wanted".
To clarify what others said, it's exactly like traveling to a station or planet - target what you want to go to, get your alignment, distance, and throttle indicators into the blue, and then use the safe exit from supercruise.
