Elite / Frontier Where do you trade ?

At the moment I'm trading Imperial sector, here are some good routes and places to go visit

Facece
Vequess
Sohoa
Ioququ
Urtize
Soveze

Do any of you pilots visit elsewhere with some good trading profit making ?

Tatata!

That is illegal!

Shame on you!

Roboter from Sol to Barnards Star - keep looking for the special prices at the pinboard.

I personal love the Diso - Ridquat route with my Panther Clipper:

Eliminating about 50 ships per route and buying some narcoticas for the empire...

As if anyone cared about ing off some religious freaks.

Thogh I prefer Van Maanen's - Tau Ceti route.
Slightly less profit per tonne but you can easily make up for this by taking more cargo, especially if you can install smaller drive.

Still, I'm not much of a trader.

Hehehe... I found an anarchy system not so fare away from Van Maanen's Star, it allowed everything, even nerve gas. I used to buy as much nerve gas as I could get, and it got me thinking... What on "earth" are they going to do with 20 tons of nerve gas? :D They better not start any holy wars!

It only Illegal if you dont have the permit, which is EASY to obtain. Just keep checking the message borads until you find someone going there. One of the question you can ask them is f you need a permit, they'll say, 'Oh you havent been before, I'll get you one.' Then you dont have to battle the police and pay there fine (which by the way is no where near the amount you can make trading the route), each time you vist. You get to keep the permit and enter when ever you like, without getting fined and shot at.

I think it's still illegal; the permit just allows you to enter the system without falling foul of the law. Trading those goods (luxuries etc.) will get you into trouble.

Indeed. Anything that makes life easier and/or more pleasant/bearable is illegal in Van Maanen's. I suspect they'd ban computers too, if it didn't spell certain doom for their pious asses stuck on an airless lump of rock bathed in the radiation from the Van Maanen's.

Still, I never encountered any pirates there, so it's very safe (and boring) system to trade in.
You can also smuggle goods in relative safety there, as they don't seem to ever check ships for contraband. The only problem would be the police traps, but once you get to know some people they become a non-issue.

You've really got a problem with those selfless souls at van Maanen's, haven't you? ;)

I always wondered why the orbital trading post is doing there anyway (van Maanen), are the people who work there also in this cult? Or are they just a federal military outpost to keep a watch over them since they are under federal protection. If it is a military base, you would know your military carer isn't going very well if you are sent off to work there.

For those who enjoy smuggling then you can get away with trading battle weapons for slaves between Eta Casseopiea and AC+79º3888. (Speak to Mr Heath & Mr Yamaha at J.F.Kennedy and Denver Depot respectively, tell them I sent you...) - of course, all those Federal delivery missions give you perfect cover for the run.

Live Animals to Andceeth -5,2 is quite profitable if you don't mind the risks.
If you where wondering the profit is about c2000 per ton at Campbell's of Denver Station, no need to wait for the BB to get a super deal. I am buying them at Laedla -4,1, they are legal and plentiful there.
