Where have all the planets gone?

So I'm scooting along 400ly above Sol (currently at about -1400, 400, -2700).

I'm not sure if I'm imagining things but the frequency of sequence stars with no planets seems to be higher up here than closer to the plane.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is it an expected phenomenon that there will be fewer and fewer planets the closer you get to the edge because the matter is less dense and there isn't as much left over once you've made a star or something? Am I just fooling myself by selectively remembering?

I am not an astrologer but I read somewhere that ED have a 1:1 copy of plenty "real stars" (and the rest is random). So, I guess it is like this because it is like this ;)

Lol, I had four single stars in a row followed by four twins....no planets. Then I had two systems both of which had three water worlds....its totally random.

Heh, funny you should say this as I noticed this last night too - I had 4 consecutive systems of just stars. What was particularly odd was that they were M and G class and these "normally" have planetary bodies (normal in the game!) even if it's just a bunch of ice planets...

Maybe they're being mined by Thargoids to build a dyson sphere somewhere? ... Or maybe it's just random. Yeah, Thargoids!

It is all in accordance with god's plan.

And by "god's plan" I mean 'a hash function used a lookup-entry into a function table"

I went pretty much the opposite direction, and I have plenty of planets. It could be that the northern hemisphere (from Earth) skyfield has more actual stars and less procedurally generated stars, which might affect planet distribution.

Not sure about it but I don't think it has anything to do with the location. I had traveled long, long distances being way, way high in the plane and found no evidence of this. It might just be mere coincidence. Also, I am an Astrologer.
