Engineers Where have all the USS gone?

Hi,

Just picked ED up again (after all the broken missions I decided to give it a break until 2.1). I received a message through Comms (nice!) offering a critical mission rescuing inhabited escape pods (or something). I jumped to the location but have been flying around for 15 minutes without a single USS popping up. Am I missing something or am I just impatient. Shouldn't take this long for a single USS, surely...?

Any help appreciated, Commanders

You might have to scan the Nav Beacon in the system for further details on the location.

They should still be spawning random USSs but the mission critical ones are given by nav-beacons/discovery scans now. Which is nice.

There are shipping lanes now - the USS show up much more frequently if you are traveling along the shipping lanes.

I believe gone are the days where you could just sit anywhere stopped in SC and wait for them to spawn. At least they clamped down on that anyway.

Also bear in mind one thing that has changed (that probably has no bearing on the mission you're doing) with the new USS is that you can't just park in space and let them land in front of you - they don;t spawn based on your speed anymore, so get out there and go places :)
