We have a fairly good selection of ships now, with a limited list of newer ships I'd care to see moving forward.
Outside of those ships, I'd like to see attention given to bringing all existing ships to the same standard as newer designs, and slight alterations to those existing ships to ensure they fit specific niches better,
In addition, I am pro-spacelegs, in particular after watching Nebohtes' and FRj's videos on internal volumetrics of the ships available. It'd be nice to walk around our ships and effect manual repairs from within, and to walk to SRV or SLF for operation of those craft. Even if it's just that. These ships are essentially our homes, and we should be free to explore and "live" in them.
New ships I'd like to see:
-SK FdL variant
-SK Racing ship/Medium pad ship (Orca variant?)
-Alliance Eagle Mk4 (Or equivalent Saker homage) Or Eagle Mk1
-Alliance Hunter (small fighter, rough Vulture equiv.)
-Alliance large ship (not the T10, that doesn't count)
-ZPG Medium freighter/miner with good number of small/medium hardpoints (Puma?)
-ZPG Panther
-Lakon T8 miner (T7 with additional medium hardpoints at expense of some capacity. Perhaps SLF bay optional)
-Imperial Medium pad ship, as well as SLF carrier ship (could be one and the same) Could be Clipper variant(s)
-Imperial Explorer variant of Cutter
Existing ships I'd like to see alterations of:
-ALL- cosmetic updates, where needed (Alliance engine nacelles personally bug me)
-T6 & Keelback- Size tweak to fit on small pad
-T7- Size tweak to fit on medium pad
-Orca- Size tweak to fit medium pad (Racer mentioned above could be variant of Orca)
-Imperial Fighter Retractable wings, so it doesn't clip through fighter bay
-Ship kits (though I suspect this would be a different art team anyway)
For all I'd like to see the new ships above, (Faction ships that are missing, a few mining dedicated ships, at least another racer to compete with Mamba, another top-end explorer and the Panther) I'd rather see the existing ships get alterations to better fit their niches and start to get interiors first. Interiors at this point would be a monumental task, so I hope FD have planned ahead, with blocked out allocation of space and manufacturer specific design language all pre-designed. Perhaps interiors can be made to reuse prefabbed "building-blocks" to save time and allow rapid integration. A later art pass could be used to give each ship some slightly different character, if this results in a monotonous aesthetic for each faction.
