Where is Cygnux X-1?

Cygnus X-1 (closest known black hole to Sol) is not found on my galaxy map. Does it have another name in-game? I have tried various other names, but no joy.

I've looked for some other stars that should exist, also e.g. HD 4004 (a Wolf-Rayet star). I can't find them either (HD 4004 does bring back some other HD stars, but not the one I'm looking for).

What naming convention is being used in E: D? Which databases were used? Any ideas welcome. :)

Gliese and Hipparcos are 2 I know of. Try HIP 3415 for HD 4004. As for Cygnus X-1 you could try any one of these AG (or AGK2)+35 1910, BD+34 3815, HD (or HDE) 226868, HIP 98298, SAO 69181, V1357 Cyg. I also remember this being asked last year. Can't remember the answer, sure someone has the link to the thread.

ETA: I haven't actually tried those designations in game. I just googled for the info.

It's at V1357 Cygni in game.
There was some confusion and the system got moved in 1.2. It was originally where you now find Star of India.

Catalogues in use include parts of NGC, HD/HDE, HIP, some GSC, some TYC, some 2MASS, some MJD and certain unique ones. There's 150,000 or so "handmade" systems with a proper designation, the rest are procedurally generated.

What are you talking about, Cygnus X is a text editor on the Amiga! Don't tell me they named a star after it :D
