Greetings all,
Old school Elite player here, having played the original on the BBC back in the 80's. Loving this new modern version being put together and have been playing for a few days now.
Just wondering though as the title suggests where is everyone? By that I mean the pirates. I understand I can go and find combat zones and check out signal sources and basically go looking for trouble but none seems to come my way.
In the original 80's version even trading in relatively safe systems would see you get a few tussles here and there but so far in this, nothing. Even if I jump into an Anarchy system I can make it all the way unmolested. Now I understand of course the game is in beta so far from finished but is this how it's going to be now? That trading will just feel like space truck simulator where the only edge of your seat moment is when a massive transporter comes through that small entrance to the station just as you are headed the other way, or will they change this later, or have I just been incredibly lucky so far?
I understand I could get what I'm looking for in multiplayer but I can't help feeling I would just be a sitting duck in my tiddly little sidewinder armed with it's pea-shooter!
