Where is everyone?

I'm at the Durius conflict zones right now. Flying between Buricasses and Durius. And... there's almost nobody here. Not just in the conflict zones, but in the sectors themselves. I thought that this was supposed to be an MMO, and i've seen plenty of players in other sectors (Potriti and Evarate for some reason are BUSTLING) but it's more barren than a baby's buttock.

I've only encountered ONE player so far, and he was in the Buricasses conflict zone. We had a nice little chat about how the durius conflict zone is garbage because it's 200,000 Ls away from the jump point as well as having no repairs or resupplies there, so it's literally worthless to go fight there. He then tried to take down the capital ship to get some creds, and he's the only one i've seen after 3 or 4 days of this.

Is there another conflict zone or sector that's seeing a lot of action??? What am I missing?

Most people congregate in the start areas, as you move away you'll lose more and more traffic until essentially your entirely solo, I suspect if you went 300ly out in a random direction unless by chance you chose a popular destination (might sell a rare commodity) you'd see between absolutely nobody, and almost nobody. I'm ~ 70-80ly away from where I started hanging around LTT 1349 and i see about one person per day.

yep the galaxy is massive i'm quite curious if anyone has made it to the galactic center or even to the opposite side of the galaxy, but in truth you could put every person on earth 1 in each system and there would still be 393 billion systems without anyone in them. (assuming ofc the game does actually contain 400 billion systems looking at the galaxy map and panning it around i would say that has to have some truth to it)

if it only contained 100 billion systems and we did the above that would still leave 93 billion systems with no one in them.

1 billion seconds is 31 years, if you wanted to explore the entire galaxy and visit every system and you did a system every second. it would take you 12400 years (i think math is not my strong suit).

All this talk about not seeing anyone and here I am constantly time after time sitting with 5-6 players, waiting to get docked in one of those small budget stations that have way too few landing pads for traffic it gets. Constantly at extraction sites someone steals my bounty kills, last hitting targets lol.

Come to Yakabugai-area or I Bootis-area... there be lots of people. Space is big. You really can't go jumping one direction and expect to stick around players.

I'm a little over 100 ly from Sol, trading and occasionally bounty hunting and in the past week I have only seen 1 CMDR flying through "my systems". Is it that players are congregating in and around starter systems, everyone has spread out far and wide or that there are just not that many players? Anyway loving the game but looking forward to when we can team up in wings (if we can find anybody in this vast universe).

Yeah, wings REALLY need to be added soon. If we can actually take the "Dangerous Groups" forum and give it some sort of actual function, that'd be great. It'd also be nice if we could explore on foot so we could actually USE the multiple seats of the ASP or other large ships.
