Where Is My Exploration Coin?

Okay, so I just did the jaunt from Sol to Colonia via Sagittarius A, jumping around 50ly per jump and honking every system I came across. If there was 8 or more planets I'd throttle down and do an FSS, and then if something tasty showed up like an undiscovered Earthlike World or a terraformable water world, high metal planet or rocky road I would head over and do a map scan of the mongrel. On the course of my many, many jumps I would have discovered at least a half dozen undiscovered ELW plus oodles of undiscovered terraformables.

Here's the thing: once I got to Colonia I hit up the cartographic thingy to see how many tens of millions all this data would have scored me, as I know one ELW or terraformable water world or HMC planet is worth around the $3M mark. Yet when it said I could sell all my data it was worth a measly $5M.

Anyone ever had this happen to them where their cartodata just hasn't added up?

There is a known bug where selling systems individually will not award you the first discovery bonus credits, nor the tags. Although I only found this out when it happened to me just now.
See this issue, for example. Please contribute to it if you can: Frontier generally don't bother with issues that aren't voted up, and exploration is not a priority of theirs either.

Might be that the bonuses are missing from page bulk sales too.

How many pages of data did you sell? 5M sounds like 1 page. There are probably a few more pages to sell. You may have to sit there for a lot longer than you think!

Did you perhaps get destroyed during your journey and re-spawned at a station? That will lose you everything. As an aside, using a tool like EDDiscovery will give you a rough running total of your earnings, you don't mention if you are PC or console player, but if PC I recommend it.

There's no vote button due to the fact someone at Frontier need to "confirm" the issue and it hasn't been touched for a week.

You'd think a game breaking issue for explorers like this (losing tags or payouts) would be a priority for a day two patch not put on the backburner, imagine if miners didn't get their payout from selling LTD's the outrage would get the game cancelled.

It appears that is the source of it, I jumped just outside the bubble to find an unmapped body in the system. Upon mapping it on my main account (call it Account A) then selling the data it doesn't show the tag:

Then today I switched to my secondary account (Account B) and travelled by ship to the system where my carrier is while scanning systems along the way, then I mapped the body and sold the data in bulk:

So Account A scanned and sold the data first but Account B was able to steal the tags despite selling the data afterwards just because Account A only sold one system to the carrier rather than bulk sell an entire page.
