But in reference to GalNet ->The Pleiades, Maia and Merope are the systems constantly mentioned for Alien activity

And The Oracle was the station build by the CG to investigate the Alien Bases so typing that in the Gal Map works as well

Yes. A mission with some story content would be nice. I don't want to have to go to X place and then visit forums and YouTube to fill in the gaps. I was hoping for actual in-game narrative this time.
There's defintely in-game narrative for this one.
Remember - The original spin on the game had no narrative at all and was left totally to the pilots imagination. I'm sure FD wants to preserve some of that so I expect it to be thin.

No, it's pretty vague. Frontier have actually been ridiculously vague in-game. This might be fine for someone who spend their entire life obsessed with finding thargoid tech, sites and whiz-bang toys; but it's hopeless for someone who just wants to get a handle on the basics.

OP, your point is relevant, unfortunately Frontier were never going to get it quite right; too much help and it's just spoilers for days. not enough, leaves people who aren't tracking it in the dark; it's not an easy thing to get right. Arguably, there is no 'right' degree they can telegraph this stuff.
If you can't remember being probed...well that's kind of normal.
The silly thing is, they already have automatic inbox messages, upon landing at a starport implemented. Palin gives you a mission like this in Obsidian orbital.
Have some NPC send a mission to all commanders, once, at all stations, to go to X location and recover a life pod (or whatever) because Thargoids destroyed ships.
Done.
I just left after playing for several hours in HIP 17694, roughly 98% of all USS's are thargoids.
I also saw better than 50% non-human signals in maia, and a couple in merope.
On the other hand, I logged in 2.4 at Palin's base, no sign of alien activity.
Flew to Darnielle's Progress to check whether they have meta alloys, making sure to check all USS along the way. No sign of alien activity.
So I went back to bubble to continue on the Eurybia CG, still no sign of alien activity.
Maybe some players see it but so far it is definitely not obvious. Or it's random as usual, some players get multiple alien encounters while others have none.
