Where is the FUN???

Do something else while playing - forget the ship -remember it and *ohh shaiiiuu*t! my shiiiip! run to pc -ahh-still alive! :D

My fun is meeting a CMDR tonight and exchanging chit chat...nothing of great import....his cat was on the keyboard...I said my dog is jealous of the keyboard etc....
I sat nose to nose with the Nav beacon...(it's not really a Nav beacon, it's my beer cooler) then I got a message from him saying "Give me a hand with this 'Conda..."
So I stayed behind him and entertained the 'Conda's turrets along with a few bored NPC's....
BOOM! He got the bounty and I boosted and spiraled thru the remains...
I actually don't need the money...I have 3.5M Cr in the bank..an 'A' Class Cobra..I grind, I bounty hunt.... I don't have any aspirations to get a bigger ship (+bigger problems etc..)
We went back to the Nav beacon for a beer and continued chatting, Cobra and an Asp, nose to nose...
Happy as Larry and I'm really having fun here!:D
Just sayin....

My fun recently has been saving up for a Python. It involved a fair amount of grinding trade routes (not fun), with manic hours of Resource Site bounty hunting (fun, especially in the dark - boosting through an asteroid field in a Clipper is... challenging!)

last night, I bought my Python. A bit more grinding a new trade route kitted it out as a trader (248t cargo, D class equipment). Now I will have fun saving up for each new & improved bit of kit to turn my big, beautiful, unarmed Bullseye into a big, beautiful, kickazz armed trader who can eat pirates and other outlaws for breakfast without even burping.

Once I have reached that target, I will probably start saving to do exactly the same with an Anaconda.

It's all about setting goals and working towards, then achieving, them. Much like RL, in fact: I work hard (not fun) to pay for a new car, or a foreign vacation. Or, as at the moment, an Oculus Rift :)

Just did one of those Elite Assassination missions to take down a Fed. Dropship.

Long Asp battle with my Eagle but I made it with 30% Hull and a broken canopy.

Pretty fun if you ask me, it felt like a dance at the end trying to dodge its lasers :)

The fun in this version of Elite is just like in the original. What you make of it for yourself.

Indeed, we didn't come here to play some mindless FPS game where we run around like lemmings endlessly shooting, killing, dying and respawning as we watch some arbitrary numbers count down until the battle is over which admittedly can be fun but Elite is something totally different and becomes much more interesting when you approach it from a different angle as no one is going to tell you where to go or what to do. Hence we make our own stories for the moment until Fdev finds a way to guide people into contentious game play dynamics with a useful risk reward aspect and some assets to fight over.

Best idea is check on Dangerous Groups See if people posted a area where pvp is going on.

Do check out some of the groups as many play along with other people fighting over trade routes, killing NPC, bounty hunting or mining, others simply shoot some one just because they feel like ruining their day (not that I personally like to ruin peoples day unless provoked). For me the fun comes when you are attacked by various people and you organise some furious wrath and anger with your friends in teamspeak or other online comms, admittedly Fdev could have provided a better in game community comms or group comms system which would have fostered such attack/counter attack game styles but it is still early days. Some of the best fun I have had to date was fighting over certain trade routes as the other group occupying the area seemed to have claimed ownership as it was a rather lucrative route, me and several friends on TS did what we could to break their monopoly which was the basis for several group battles. The game as is however really does lack any serious game assets to contend for other than trade routes though there are plenty of pirates and stone cold killers around the more populated areas should you wish to bounty hunt.

Elite will not always deliver instant multiplayer PVP game play on a plate, in this way its a true sandbox where you have to decide what you want from the game and have to create the scenario of contention which several people/groups are doing in various ways, Fdev do occasionally introduce some aspect or other that will give you a reason to go out into open play and fight over a particular game asset with various results. Grinding in solo mode or friendly groups will simply restrict your game options though it provides a nice safe area to get your credits built up so that you can go into battle with others with little regard for losing a few ships once you have the credits and the guns etc.

Go forth and multiply your credits, wingmen, ships weapons and so forth as only then will the heavens be yours spake the profit! :D Trade first and shoot later when you can afford to lose a ship or two said the man from WISE J000517 :S

Where`s the fun in the game?

I`ve seen things you people wouldn't believe.....

"I've stood on the back deck of a blinker bound for the Plutition Camps with sweat in my eyes watching the stars fight on the shoulder of Orion…"

I do one rare trade/smuggling loop with bounty hunting between stations, sale all that cargo then go off into the void for 2000lys while listening to music or watching shows, netflix, youtube and try not to smash into too many event horizons. when I get back to human space I find cmdrs and interact/ help/ chat with them. Lots of casual fun some evenings. :)

Ok i have not playet much lately (lets face it its borring). He hasn't played a considerable amount in recent times

But when i come back on odd days or weekends i wana know what to do? On those random times that he does play, he wonders, "What should I do..."
Like right now after all the fun luxuriers did give and lave piratin (i see no people here - and no im not net banned). There used to be Seeking Luxuries which led others to play in one spot. One well know spot, or perhaps a few well known spots. And he sure did love to pirate those human players at the Seeking Luxuries' locations! But now in that certain spot, there are no people, and no Seeking Luxuries. He's not banned, so he wonders why he cannot see players. (Hinting that in fact there are not many players to be found)

I wana play with some peaople .. He longs for those good 'ol days when there were people in one location that he could locate and pirate.

point me to it.. plx "Where are these people now?"

Please stop..my stomach is hurting so much...you deserved a rep, sir.

Whilst I disagree with what I presume to be the spirit of this reply, it is so darn funny I'm gonna have to rep it anyway! Holy asteroids that made me laugh, and how'd you have it ready so dang fast!?

Oh i actually enjoy the game allot haha, but sometimes things get very mundane and dull. I had just finished watching the Imagination episodes, so as soon as i found this thread, and read the title, i figured this would've been a suitable post.

I've just had great fun! This video shows the aftermath of what's in the description. A close call.

The FUN is located in an unmarked star system, but there is probably a mission that will send you to the right system. FUN trades a lot like rares do - the further you take it, the more it's worth. So once you find the FUN, run with it and make bank.

Thank you im drunk =] (and no - i was not pirating at luxuries spots - i was making $$$)

And other time right after patch to 1.101*(i think - clipper fix) i meet a person who was minning things to participate in a community goal... and i guarded him from NPC's

So here you miss read me but rest is ok.
I want to play with people, i do not want to spend 1 hour of my free time to jump from star to star just to get to a fun spot...(game flaw - SC sux).

Oh and we as humans are warring people - Where are the weapons we developed in this 1k years ? did we seriously just come up with 5 types of'em?

Oh did i mentioned im drunk =]

I have lots of fun. Right now space jumping, listening to some good tunes and chair-dansing. Space muppet I am. But at least I'm not pretending to be drunk on a forum on a friday night. What do you do for fun other than that and playing games you don't like? Thought about getting a hobby?
