Where next?

I need an objective for a long, long journey. Perhaps off the beaten track (if that even exists anymore?!).
Any suggestions?

I'll be going in Odyssey so I guess I'll take a suit... I'm not much into engineering (anymore) so I'll be looking for a good off the shelf item for exploration, again any suggestions?

I've already been to:
Sag A*
Beagle Point
Explorers Bar & Grill
Colonia
That farthest South place...

Likely I'll be taking my ~71 LY DBX

East to the furthest point that way maybe, lot's of interesting stuff in that direction.

i recommend visiting all supergiants.
or doing the Canonn Challenge https://canonn.science/codex/canonn-challenge/
or travelling along a complete arm of the milky way. for exampel the sagittarius arm.

Draw a shape on the GalMap and plot a route along the shape outline; do the cardinal points, do a circum nav, head to highest & lowest, try and visit every Wolf Rayet, visit every AA-A in a sector or two, find a cube and do an ELW hunt using ecomode. Sooo many choices!!!

You've been around the block a bit so we dont' need to remind you that you'll see a lot of the same old same old but that shouldn't stop you enjoying the journey :)

Thanks everyone for the input - there are some attractive ideas here. Perhaps a shape would be fun but I also like the idea of finding a underexplored sector and bashing it for the glory!

In fact I could probably knock of some highs, lows, cardinal points etc in the same trip. No real limit on endurance now we have all the DSSA assets across the galaxy.

Have fun!

If you're after actually discovering things, skip on the most famous POIs, especially on the fringes of Galaxy. For example: you need to travel much further from Beagle Point to find an unexplored system than from the Bubble. It's cool to get there, of course, and see your name on EDSM's POI visitors list, but be prepared for travelling well-beaten paths for quite a while.

As for the underexplored sectors, the one and only Edastro saturation map is your friend. :giggle:

You might actually want to try one of those long range tourist missions available at most stations. Choose one that goes to a destination eg. 20+ kLy away. Those always go to some interesting system with a tourist beacon in it.
