Where should I engineer power distributors now?

Hi,

I want to contribute to last thargoid battle. I tried to use my python 2 that is not engineered. It's just too slow. Then I tried my exploration engineered asp. It's fast enough but I just die every time after I have done a few runs. Do I get rewards for shooting thargoid even if I die every time?

Where can I engineer power distributors? I tried Sirius fella but he was shut down. Python 2 might be a bit more reliable but I have to engineer at least power distributor.

Is there anyway to see if I have enough materials for engineering? I did some grind back in the day.

As an offline source you could take a look at the Elite Dangerous Odyssey Materials Helper. That will list everything you have and show you what engineers require for upgrades. Bit of a learning curve for navigating around, but not too bad. It's actually very handy just for giving you an overview of all your current materials, even ignoring the rest of what it does.

You can use Inara too. I'd recommend signing up and linking it to your Frontier account anyway (if you haven't already). It's useful for lots of things.
I made this unengineered build for new players, it might work for some, its 579m/s and the hull is enough if you have experience in flying, something to try:

You can read thru this thread, I made some comments as well how to fly it. Basically you turn off everything that's not needed to get to titan, then turn on weapons and heatsink only to bomb it. Hide behind a rock near a vent, torp only a few vents, stay in silent running and use heatsinks. Then regroup turn on repair (you can skip decon limpet too), turn off everything but weapons and heatsink, rinse and repeat. I synthesize limpets too only as needed to keep weight down and speed up.

As long as you see the rewards message flash up on the screen before you die at the Titan you are fine.
