where should i go to find other cmdr's?

i have been in and around sorbago for the last week or so however i have not come against any cmdr's, im thinking maybe i should go back to my home system in kremain, is there still bunches of people over in kremain and lhs 3447

i for some reason found loads of people near potriti (i think that's what it's called) and evarate. The sorbago thing is over now, so you won't find anyone there. I'm currently in the Durius conflict zones but only seen one or two players...
