Where the loot?

One noticeable but easy to implement mechanic is decent loot when ships are destroyed. This should also include ship components you can use or sell.

Salvage would be neat, I wouldn't have a reason to leave stations anymore. :D

Waits for station to murder some random ship for the hell of it.
 
The lack of it is intentional, so that pirates have an incentive to make you drop cargo rather than simply blowing your ship and scooping the debris.
 
Yep but dropping something is better than nothing, it would hardly break piracy, it would add better rewards for bounty hunting and combat zones adding some interesting decisions into the game.

Ooh goodie I can't wait to start farming epics. Train to zone!

Be fun fighting other players for a class A drive, maybe light ramming jostling for the scoop if they are on your side or if you don't want a fine, kind of friendly pvp lol.... More fun than the current credit farming only.

I love the idea of scavengers darting in trying to scoop what they can. It was more like that in the Beta and was great fun.

Loot would add a lot of emerging gameplay (player to player dodgy component sales) and a dash of excitement to the current credit grind. They should up NPC hardness but have better rewards is my overall thoughts. Combat needs to be more exciting again.
