Newcomer / Intro Where the RES sites?

So I finally have a vulture that is pretty much the boss. I can't seem to find any RES locations. I go to a system with extractions and all I see if belts in the navigation window? What am I missing? The system maps show an asteroid cluster.

Look for planets with rings, like those of Saturn.
I know Jonai has a few, Hip 93310 as well... To name a few.

And if remember correctly, you need to be within 1000LS for them to show up in the nav-pane.

Bof, I had to be less than 500Ls to detect most (maybe my weak scanners)?
Do a search on the forum for a list of RES sites. There was a going list of system's with good proximity RES to Stations/Outposts.

Eta crucis next to lave is the best I've found. 13ls from a station and only 30ls from the main star.

There some great places like Leesti
Is just a problem of whether you would like to move house or not.

If you have the Advanced Discovery Scanner, then doing a scan anywhere will reveal all items including RESs in the system; it's handy for things like this where you can find if a system is worth hanging around in, without having to fly around a lot. (And also handy for generating exploration income as you go, even if you're mostly bounty-hunting. I've made maybe 14m credits from BH, with another 1m from exploration, without ever "going exploring").

In my experience so far, you have a good chance of finding an RES when the following applies:

-The system features an extraction and/or refinery economy (at least on some or most of the stations)
-The system has at least one planet with a ring system that is either rocky or metallic (click the planet on system map and check)

For a good RES hunting ground you'll want a station, better yet an outpost, in orbit around the same planet that has the extraction sites in its ring. If you also like to run missions, you'll want the planet to be as close to the primary star as possible.

I don't know whether the security status of the system plays a role in the frequency of pirate spawns in extraction points, too, but as a bounty hunter, you will generally want the security level of the system to be as low as possible. And don't forget the KWS, especially when it is an anarchy system
