i have to admit
even despite being generally against it as i consider it pretty anti-new-player

That will tell you where to get the weapons - but I doubt it'll help you very much.
Yes, you can fit a (or multiple) plasma weapons on any ship ( I suppose you're talking about ship weapons)
BUT
unless you have set up (and likely engineered) your ship properly, that won't necessarily worked. I learned that when I equipped my iCourier with three plasmas. I managed to put in a powerplant that would power them - so, it didn't shut down everything when I deployed them. But when I tried to fire them, nothing happened - the distributor just couldn't hold sufficient charge to fire all three plasmas at once .
Which might have been a good thing, as firing three plasmas from an iCourier would probably have cooked my ship withthe first salvo.
