Horizons Where to do long range smuggling?

Any good places / systems? I am in Sothis right now it's an excellent place but I'd like a change of scenery. I have tried many places and they all seem to be empty of good missions. I have tried Fehu, 17 Draconis, Tamar, Wu guinagi, Tamar, they all seem fairly low income ie take 60 tons 100 ly for a million million and a half. On sothis I frequently get missions for 5 million to deliver to Ceos or I can fill my hold up with 25 million worth of missions (100 tons or so) to fly back to the bubble. I'm not interested in a million for 100 light years and most of my cargo hold full meaning I can't stack missions in the same general direction.

Is Sothis Ceos really the only place in the galaxy with good missions? I need 150 for an FDL And I'd rather not grind that 1 million at a time for weeks on end.

Robigo as well is empty for me 1 faction requires cordial to even begin. The other only has 1 mission at a time 5 million for most of my cargo hold

Ie I'm looking for places like sothis and ceos places that easly pay over 200k / ton and whose stations are within 5000 ls of the jump in point and which actually generate a proper mission list unlike robigo. Been to Maia as well but the only way to generate rep there is flying 100k from the jump in of a neighbouring system which takes forever.

Search the forums, there is a list of stations on the edge of the bubble...

Fehu is where I go. All the missions are between 5-6 million for me irrespective of cargo. All smuggling.

I regularly get 60+ million per run in my cutter.

You need rep with Fehu Silver Ring though or you can't get any missions from them. Don't think there is any way to get it without missions at the moment.

Smuggling in a Cutter?

These "smuggling" mission are not different to delivery missions these days.
The good old Robigo is dead and there is nothing comparable left. There is no real long range smuggling anymore :(

Robigo is what I do with a Python. I get btw 5 and 6 million per mission and around 60-70 mil per run. Where ever you go you will need to build up reputation with the controlling faction for better payment. If you find a better place please share as I would like a change of scenery also :)

How is Robigo dead? I am still doing it and it's working just fine :p

lol I agree it shouldn't be easy in a cutter, but it was just the same 2.0 and even before then in a T9 (non mission bulk smuggling).

The evasive tactics are the same, speed and not being seen. Cutter is great for speed. Dropping in facing the slot means you aren't seen by the patrols. Works for all ships always has.

I would certainly like it to be a bit more challenging, I rarely even bother with silent running currently.

Well for Robigo the main faction is giving me 1 mission at a time for about 5 million maybe 7 if I'm lucky. I'm friendly with them. The other faction genertes 4 missions at a time but all of them require cordial status. I can't generate rep for them. I can't sell them nav data or bounties and I can't do missions for them. Those missions look tasty all of them small amounts of cargo and 5 million a piece. I could stack 6 of them

You guys smuggle in Cutters seriously? i would not be confident to boost through the slot at in that ship. Braking distance probably about .5 ly and rank requirements mean I'd probably get to beagle point faster than unlock that beast :D At least pirates won't bother you ever. Currently Lord 26% on my way to Baron.

Should I use my python? It has more cargo space but I have a modified asp 104 tons and it has 35 ly range 43 on return trips...... can boost to 410 fully laden to avoid pirates and can fit through the slot easily at top speed and still can break in time with creative use of up and down thrust. A trade conda would probably just barely be in my price range if I sell my combat python. The problem is that it has only like 15 ly range and would have less probably If I stack a ton of cargo racks on it. 30 jumps to the bubble vs about 12.

Thanks for the list guys I'll definetely check these places out.

I did hundreds of smuggling runs from Robigo in a Python and never used silent running - relying on speed and not being seen as you say although speed is not great in an un-modded Python.
Anyway - the other day - just for a laugh - I decided to try some smuggling in my Conda. I don't know where I was (I was in the bubble) but there were a couple of smuggling missions available and I was feeling puckish so I signed up. Totally uneventful. Line up, boost in, land. Easy. In a Conda LOL Got the same old thrill though - expecting to hear the "Ship scan...." message any moment - makes me edgy LOL but Condas appear to be pretty sneaky ships - even though the ship is a barge.

There are still a lot of systems/stations that offer Smuggling Missions. The list above are just some of them.

Although some of the factions require rep, most of them you will have to be Cordial to get the juicy,million-paying-missions and the easiest way to do this (for me BTW) is to sell them Cartographic data (i think about 200K worth of data gets you Cordial? cant remember).

And yes, i do smuggling on my Python too :D

I am using a Python with lvl 4 FSD mod and lvl 3 clean drive and let me tell you I will never go back to ASPX even if I made same modifications on it. I have around 260 cargo space and with the logging off game I can stack 20 missions if I am lucky and have enough patience which I don't but I still end up with 60 - 80 mil after all the trip is done. At first I took every mission I could from CDE Corporation even it was with 1 mil reward and that's how I've build reputation with them. Now I get around 4 mil per mission and I will keep building reputation this way. With a cutter/clipper/anaconda you aren't able to land at Robigo but you could do Sothis/Ceos runs with those ships. If this might help you here is a reddit link with that explained https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDange...isceos_long_range_hauling_explained_and_myth/.
As I usually play in open there were some guys in Robigo attacking every player that were getting close to the outpost so keep that in mind if you plan going in open there, tho I don't know if they are still camping there. Fly safe CMDR

I think this was my place for the bonus credit weeks around end of the year 2015. I've been there twice this year to check if there's any more missions, but it's all dried up.
