Having done a fair bit of exploration, I have often wondered how close I have come to exploration records. Not very close at all I'm thinking. I have heard of records such as the smallest moon, the furthest distance travelled and that famous 45G world, but I have no idea how close I have come, where they are or who discovered them. I have search for a bit and found tables in Inara, EDSM and GEC, but I was wondering if there are any other sources or where the definitive list is.

The definitive list would be EDAstro's Galactic Records page. You can also just download the data from the Files page, under Other. There's even a version for Proc. Gen. names only, so that hand-authored systems and bodies aren't included.
Well, the game doesn't log in the journals who the first discoverer was, so no site can tell that reliably. EDSM reports who it was that first uploaded the system to their site, but that's not the same.
