Newcomer / Intro Where to sell stolen goods?

I often find wares floating around in Unidentified Signal Sources, or the pirate I'm hunting will eject cargo. It's lucrative to pick them up sometimes, but often I find myself getting scanned by the local system authority and I get a fine that undoes all of the hard work I've put in over the past hour or two. :-( Is there a safe place to go, to sell stolen goods? Some place where you won't get scanned nearly as often?

if you can find an outpost with a black market its almost risk free as they don't have a security patrol.

What do you mean by outpost? Any shipyard without internal docking? Or should I be searching Anarchy systems?

yup, the small stations without a docking bay, just 4-5 landing pads.

On the starport menu under "Contacts" there are usually three options. A fourth is added if there's a black market.

An outpost is a "platform" (non-rotating) station. Platforms usually have an absent or much reduced security presence. Otherwise, if you find a station with a black market, you need to gen up on silent running to get into the station without being scanned.

You can try your luck even without silent running (because that doesn't give you 100% of not being scanned). I usually fly close to the walls of the station afterburn it couple of times and quickly hop in the docking port only once a security patrol managed to start a scan but once I entered the station they lost the lock and were unable to finish.

I think that if you are in the forward arc of an authority vessel, and are close enough (2km?) they can scan you even if you aren't on the radar simply because they can see you.
