Where's my black hole gone?

So after a long journey to visit HDE 226868, home of Cygnus X-1 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cygnus_X-1
I find the Blue Supergiant, but no black hole, just a planet.

I would have thought they'd make certain famous objects like this were in the right place :(

They could make that the new way of wiping your save, find a black hole and fall into it!!

And on the subject of falling into things, I did emerge from a jump to find this.

(MmmToasty!)

Bloomoo, I feel your pain.
I was going to head to Cygnus X-1, exactly the same as you. I originally looked up HDE226868 on 4 Jan and it said that it was a star and black hole system 7000ly away.
When I got to V1357 Cygni on 8 Jan, I was expecting my first encounter with a black hole. I wasn't expecting an encounter with the first black hole discovered!
Thing is that I checked HDE226868 once again, and the black hole was GONE! So sometime between 4 Jan and 8 Jan, FDev moved Cygnus X-1 5000ly closer to Sol.

I made a mention of it in my G+ exploration update for that day.

Check out the rest of my updates from the link in my sig.

Greetings everyone!

Completely unaware of this thread, I decided to set out to "" on the most famous Cygni-X1. Finally arriving there I discovered that Bloomoo already has discovered the main star, I was disheartened. However upon inspection of the black hole and the planet, Bloomoo hadn't tagged it, which I found most strange.
Getting back home to "Civilized" space I sold all my data, however the black hole remained undiscovered. (One of those infamous bugs, seen lots of threads about the issue.)

Bloomoo: Ticket sent #00000040540
I hope that they credit you with the find, I suggest you send a ticket on the issue as well, to increase the chances of it being picked up ;)

However I managed to get a few screens. Enjoy.

First of all, congratulations to Anuranium for joining the ranks of the commanders who've made it to Cygnus X-1
Unfortunately all of us seem to have met with disappointment in one way or another, so hopefully FDev will finally fix this once and for all.

And to add further to the disappointment, I just tried checking the current status of the system, and I now get stuck loading the System Map. grrr!!!!
Is anyone else having a problem with it?

+1rep Anuranium, as that's all I can give :D

That's because it isn't there any more Bloomoo.
V1357 Cygni is now "Star of India" as far as I can tell.

HDE 226868 is the right place for Cygnus X-1 (~7000ly from Sol).
The planet is a new addition. It wasn't there when Bloomoo or myself visited the system.

It's the other way around. HD 226868 now goes to Star of India, which is in a different place. (~2000ly away)
Searching for HDE 226868 no longer finds anything, and Cygni X-1 and V1357 Cygni find the correct location.

All these names, HD(E) 226868, V1357 Cygni, Cyg(ni) X-1 should all point to the same place.

I wish I'd thought to look for something like this before setting of for HD226868. Endless jumps to cover the 2000 light years with only the lyrics of the song to break the tedium, and then I get there and find that what I'm looking for isn't there, and I'm actually still a good 5500 light years short of the real location.

Ho Hum. Well I'm afraid my visit to X-1 will just have to wait. It took long enough to get here in the first place, so I think I'll just head back to populated space and take my frustration out on some pirate types and other lawless folk.
