So I played Gamma for a bit and my friend and I were looking for some co-op. While the game really lacks this (as the 600cr fine reminded me, after accidentally shooting him while we fought an NPC), we figured faction warfare might be fun.
The problem? We don't know where that might be. There's the whole slave thing going on right now at Hugh (or whatever the system is) and looked that up... 2,500+ light years away! Yikes!
We are literally at the edge of everything nearby a system called Shona (if you wanted to look it up). How did we get here? Our starting location isn't too far off... Maybe it's great for exploration? It was a favor for that? Random? I don't know, but we both feel quite left out of the game. Like were marooned.
Are there any closer areas for faction warfare? Something we can do together as co-op without the risk of becoming wanted? It's just two of us in Eagles. ...And all we want to do is fight some NPCs together. It took hours to get 2 or 3 last night following low energy wakes and hitting nav beacons, etc. Of course with the constant thread of accidentally shooting each other OR worse, the police at nav beacons.
There must be a better way... Any help, greatly appreciated.

I'm literally at the edge of civilization. Sorbago is 254 light years. Sol is 173 light years. It's hard to tell which way to head without the ability to plot the route too (it's too far).
