Where's the police?

Ive been interdicted while scooping by a pirate the police ship that was right by me did nothing so shows how much they care prob eating doughnuts

Yes that has happened to me in a high security system . Got interdicted by a pirate and the police stood off while i was pounded. I was allied and the police vipers were green . Also when im interdicted by the police or navy they do nothing..... It would be good to have some sort of interaction with security forces. like a comms to say shut down your engines while you are scanned .. but nothing is the pits...

The recent manual addition of "System Defense Forces" seems to target that issue,

Wait, what? "System Defense Force" is not just the weird name of that NPC I saw the other day?

They do respond in time, but end up in a different instance.

From what I've seen so far, the police/military/defence forces are pretty much useless.
