Which animals need some TLC

I'm MEGA picky about models and animations because
1. Many are so good that the eh-mediocre ones stand out
2. Frontier is capable of excellence so I feel it's important to show tough love

Base game big cats: IMO, the cartoony, fluffy, big cats stand out too much from the other animals

Bears: The grizzly and HBB are way too chunky and the HBB can easily be made more distinct. Like irl HBB's are cute as all heck

Orangutans/gorillas: I feel that their animation/sounds aren't unique enough from each other

Spotted hyena: I'm not even gonna bother. I'll let Dr. Hyena give the lowdown

Warthog: I feel that the current animal is a bit too fluffy. I get that making wispy hair is hard but the binturong proved that it can be done

Malayan tapir: Make the model a Malayan tapir. Seriously, it literally has the same mole as the Baird's tapir

Bactrian camel: Needs to be made more distinct. Bactrians have some distinct aesthetic features like being bulkier.

In my Opinion the Ratio between brown and Grey Variations isn't right. I'm pretty sure Warthogs do have a greyish Color more often in Real Life.

This is absolutely needed. They already remade the Binturong and the Dhole so I hope a Tapir Remake will come too.

I think (it's a While since I saw them in a Zoo) I've seen Bactrian Camels like the ones in the Game in Real Life (obviously bigger), so maybe different Breeds exist or they do just have some Variations in Body Type. The Main Things that need to be fixed, are Size, Cold Tolerance and I think they should also have Taiga Suitability. As someone once pointed out: the Bactrian Camel should be one of the most cold tolerant Species in the Game

For me:
  1. Malayan Tapir (Simply because it's not a Malayan Tapir, fingers crossed for the full patch notes for the 1.6 update)
  2. Bactrian Camel and Bison (Both needs to be bigger)
  3. Base game Big Cats (With the cartoonish look, they feel so out of the game and i will never play PZ without the lion remake, it's amazing)
  4. Turtles (After playing with the Planet Zoo Plus mods, i realized how small both the turtles are)
  5. Hyena (Like you said, Dr.Hyena, one name one garancy)
  6. Orangutans (From the others players feedback, i've never used them since launch 🙈)
Other than that i'm pretty fine with the rest, for me the top priority fix has to be the Malayan Tapir, just because modders fixed the others.

For the orangutan, I understand why they had to omit dreads but I feel giving it unique animations and vocalizations would help a ton. Had a zoo with both gorillas and orangutans and I felt they were too similar

Yeah, mine would be:

1. Malayan tapir - I think this does not need explanation. Also, it has some very glitchy animations with hips when laying down.
2. Bactrian Camel, Bison and Tortoises are too small
3. Hyena - Lower priority, but could use some adjustements, and some bulk.

-For the orangutans, I am still hoping for brachiations update for them if we ever get gibbons. (Even if it would be via enrichment items).
-The cats and bears do not bother me that much tbh, I like the stylized ones better than the remakes, but I know I am in minority. Though I dont expect any changes here.

Me too, but that's mostly because I don't like using mods.

I'm refusing to use the Malayan tapir in my zoos until it's actually finished, though. It blows my mind that nobody at Frontier has even addressed it yet.

1. Base game big cats need to be reworked (female lioness and lion cub excluded, they look great). The faces are too stylised? Maybe the eyes need to be bigger, face needs to be slimmer overall and more refined? The bodies could also be slimmed down, they look overfed and chonky.

2. Malayan tapir needs a more arched back and a bigger, longer, roman nose.

3. Red panda babies need to look more babyish - smaller (half the size of parents) with paler faces, closer eyes and more face fluff. See below: cub has a fluffier, pale face - vs adult that is sleeker and with more distinct white markings on a red face.

4. Orangutans should spend much more time in the trees, and hang suspended. I think it should be possible to add an animation, since Binturongs can hang from their tails, where orangs hang by their arms.
