Which animals you DON'T want in a game ?

I'm fine with just about any animals but if they don't add any more spiders or centipedes I wouldn't cry. But that's not really fair to those that do want those animals.

I guess just no more brown bears or wolves. Of course wolves in general means no more subspecies of gray wolves. Maned wolves and Ethiopian are a different enough animal that if they made the roster it would be a welcome addition. The red wolf maybe although they are close to the wolves in game.

Mythical creatures... and subspecies that look stricte the same, or have very small differences.
For example: Masai Giraffe is ok, since the pattern on whole body is different, same with Malayan tapir and Black and white Ruffed Lemur.
But I'm against animals like: Asian Lion,Kodiak Bear,Sumatran Tiger or Forest Elephant ( I got very disappointed by getting Formosan black bear and himalayan brown bear instead of Himalayan black bear and sun bear/sloth bear)

oh for sure on the mythical creatures and extinct creatures as well for that matter.

Interesting topic haha.

I wouldn't want any mythical creature or extinct animal for sure. Well, maybe recently extinct by humans wouldn't be too bad.
I could also live without more arthropods in general.

Regarding the rest, it really depends on how many official animals we'll get and if animal mods will be supported in the future. For instance, I would be against any subspecies of wolf (Canis lupus) and brown bear, but if they are delivered as extra animal reskins once a month/once every 2 months like it was suggested by (markun?) I believe, I would be okay with that. Eg. a more brownish subspecies of the wolf like the red wolf, the Italian wolf or the Iberian wolf would be very welcome. With regards to bears, somewhat distinct subspecies like the Syrian bear or the Tibetan blue bear would be okay for me too.

I wouldn't like Species that much that can't be kept in Captivity. I wouldn't be mad or something but I would like a Bull Shark way more than a Great White Shark. I do also agree that we shouldn't get mythical Creatures or similar Animals in the Game (the only Exception that would be very funny would be a hidden Easter Egg Animal like a Tsuchinoko in a Japan DLC that first needs to be unlocked with some kind of secret Method)

I'll echo the obvious statement regarding mythical and extinct animals.

I'm in a similar boat to @paul78 in that I'd rather not see anymore grey wolves or brown bears show up. For the former the in-game taxonomy is already muddied to hell by the inclusion of the Arctic subspecies so adding more would only worsen it, and as for the latter I was disappointed by the inclusion of the Himalayan brown bear from the very start (it's always felt like something of a copout to me, given how many other bears they could have included (the spectacled, Malayan sun, or sloth, or even the American black bear).

I'm not too bothered by animals that aren't common in captivity. I've mentioned before about the Sumatran rhinoceros, which I think is a worthy inclusion somewhere down the line. Cincinnati Zoo had a successful breeding event for them, and only recently decided to return their animals to the wild. I think it would be fun to try and make that programme work in the game. However, something like the Javan rhinoceros I'd be less excited to see, mostly because it is so similar to the Indian in morphology (whereas the Sumatran is a more ancient design).

Mythical, prehistoric, extinct, this kills the realism of the game. I don't think I would ever prefer it.
As I said before, I'm positive to all the species kept in captivity in this game, but I'm definitely not positive to animals like mythical, prehistoric, extinct, etc. 👎
I don't want to go against people's wishes though, but this is something else, if you get a DLC like this one day I would be glad for you. :)
but I don't buy it.

I don't want spiders in game, or any other exhibit animal. The animals do nothing in those boxes
I think it is good that they are in the Game but it would be awesome if they could somehow make it possible for the Animals to sometimes walk from one of their Resting Places to another one. Eating Animations would be also great. I think it would be cute to see a green Iguana sitting on the Floor of the Terrarium and eating some Salad or something similar

I'll go against the grain and advocate against sloths. I love sloths as much as next person, they're weird and adorable, but for PZ it would require an entirely new set of animations unique to them. It just seems like a lot of work for an animal that would ultimately do... almost nothing. On the fence about koalas for the same reason (though they are certainly less extreme). If they ever make a larger version of exhibits, I would reconsider though.

No mythical creatures as well or prehistoric also. I didn’t list them because I don’t really think they have a chance in game. We do need habitat animals tho. They do serve their purpose and to me the game needs them to keep the realism. True they don’t do much but honestly this is pretty realistic reptile amphibian behavior.

It would be cool to have this :) I have set my camera on 1 of the exhibit animals to see what they do, but after 10 years they still didn't move :/

It feels wrong to say I don't want more animals of any kind, but mythical is a big no. Now if they added a new equestrian and there was a cheat to make it LOOK like a unicorn in YOUR zoo, but still act the same, that could be cool, but a pack with fairies, dragons, and phoenixes would not be purchased by me for any reason. This isn't that kind of game. Same for extinct things. Even though in theory we might be able to clone stuff that has died out, it hasn't been done (at least not successfully), and it sort of deserves its own game (which it has, actually).

I think any new modern animal would be good, except for subspecies. I don't think we needed two tigers anyway. "Reskins" like a new rhino, a new moniter, or a new crocodile would still be welcomed, but two nearly identical types of zebra aren't something this game really needs, at least not in my opinion.

Now I know I said that extinct things would be bad, but I wonder if our vets could engineer some of our giant centipedes into arthropleura. Maybe that's what goes on in quarantine that we can't seen...

Another voice pitching in to say no mythical animals please.

Besides that, I am super happy to have whatever we’re given. I don’t mind reskins as long as they’re visually distinct (Malayan tapir and black and white ruffed lemur are good examples of reskins that hold up as their own species).

honestly not big on the idea of marine animals like sharks, dolphins, etc (although I wouldn't mind a California sea lion and some penguins somewhere down the line) for a few reasons. mostly because I'm just not very interested in them personally and would rather have other animals, but I also think for something as different as marine animals to be done properly they'd need a much bigger dlc than the ones we've gotten so far and may even be better suited to their own separate game

on the note of reskins, I don't mind them so long as they look different and we don't get too many of them. I'd quite like to get a Przewalski's horse at some point. in some cases I think they would need to be free in updates rather than part of the dlcs (like the Arctic wolf should have been). for example a Rothschild's giraffe would be nice but I wouldn't want it to take up a space in a dlc when we only get 4 animals

Good topic!

For me: No mythical animals, no extinct animals (dinosaurs especially but also more recent ones), no cetaceans, and fairly limited marine species in general (no great whites, no whale sharks, etc.). I'm fine with species similar to those already in the game (i.e., 'reskins') as long as they are physically (colouration), and environmentally substantially different (e.g., I was fine with the arctic wolves). I, in general, prefer non-domesticates (would have preferred wild camels instead of domesticated ones and guanacos or vicuñas rather than llamas) but I'm OK with them.
