Which book should i start with?

Hi guys, I fancy a read next week but not sure which of the Elite books I should start with? Like the Look of Michael's book Legacy but don't know how that fits. Is there an order I should read them in? Or are they all good stand alone? Which one sets the stage for the game the best?

I've read a fair few of the fan ones and indeed Legacy and they are all stand alone so there isn't really an order to read them in. I have enjoyed all the books and they do help to flesh out the Universe.

"Tales from the Frontier". It's great mix of fantastic stories. It's a great way to dip your toe in to the books. If you want to wade in further there's Kate Russell's book, "Mostly Harmless". There's also the marvellous book by Drew Wagar, "Elite: Reclamation"

Now that's a difficult one.

I've read Legacy and currently reading Reclamation. Both are very good and thoroughly enjoyable, although from what I've read of Reclamation so far, I think it's got the slight edge of Legacy.

Regards

There is also "The Dark Wheel"....

This will give a perspective on the later tales

Also this.....

I read it back in the day and plan to re-read it. It's floating around the internet in PDF format.

Thanks Guys. in a tossup between Legacy and Reclamation which would you go with first?

This may be slightly biased. I got the audiobook version of Elite: Reclamation and it is bloody brilliant. Toby Longworth's reading of the book, the sound effects, the music really accentuates Drew Wagar's story. If you decide to read his free Oolite Saga books please bear in mind that this is better than those.

Of course maybe that opinion would be different if Chris Jarvis and Toby Longworth were to make audio-dramas out of them <grin>

Elite: Reclamation is a good book, read that into the early hours. Also, it's more Imperial-centric.

If you have read about Kahina Tijani Loren on Galnet, she's the main character.

Legacy is a great read as is Reclamation but I really enjoyed Allen Stroud's Lave Revolution and it's probably my favourite.
